Berghotel Bastei

We are leaving the hotel one day before because of a forest fire under 20 km away. The state has closed the forest all th way around us. There is smoke and there are firefighters and police outside of the hotel. We were in no danger but we couldn't do any of what we booked the reservation for and are stuck at the hotel. But when we checked out at 9 o'clock (well before latest check out time) they wanted us to pay for both nights. They said that because there was no danger and they couldn't afford to do that with all of the rooms. But we checked in the day before, and at that time, they knew about all being closed down and they didn't tell us. We even asked them one time before arrival, and two times after - and they said nothing so we found the information ourselves on the state website.... and then they confirmed it. We told them that we didn't wanted to pay because of misinformation, but the manager of the reception said that it was just bad luck like with corona... really terrible costumer service.

We have come to the area for hiking. If you choose to stay in this hotel, maybe at least get the room with the view to the rocks. The inner yard facing ones are rather sad - on the main tourist route and overlooking a patched restaurant wall (+ some construction). The only place to buy water is the overpriced restaurant (7 eur for a bottle). The hotel bar serves 0 snacks/food, so again your only option for food here (without driving/much walking) is the overpriced restaurant. And there is kind of nothing to do here other than see the Bastei and start trails. Did not try sauna. Breakfast is good. We definitely recommend staying in one of the towns around to have more options for sights and food (and equally good starting points for hikes).

Ein wirklich gemütliches und schönes Hotel in Top Lage. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind stimmig eingerichtet. Allein die Kissen sind der einzige Kritikpunkt. Der Saunabereich ist klein aber fein. Das Panorama Restaurant ist das Highlight des Hotels. Der Ausblick und die Küche sind grandios. Auch das Frühstücksbüffet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Für einen romantischen Wochenendtrip sehr zu empfehlen!

Diese Bewertung schreibe ich gerne. Wir reisen viel in der Welt herum. Sicher sind die Hotels nicht unbedingt vergleichbar mit den asiatischen Hotels. Aber da Deutschland in der Zwischenzeit eine servicewüste geworden ist, sticht das Berghotel Bastei positiv heraus. Wir hatten ein Arrangement mit drei Nächten inclusive Menüs. Die Begrüßung war sehr freundlich. Das erste 3. Gang Menü war ausgezeichnet. Das Zimmer, selbst gewählt, war nicht sonderlich groß aber bei diesem schönen Wetter hält man sich nicht lange dort auf. Die Minibar war gefüllt und im Angebot enthalten. Das Badezimmer sehr modern gestaltet. Das Bett, mein persönliches Empfinden, könnte eine härtere Matratze vertragen. Das Frühstücksbüffet läßt keine Wünsche offen. Hier ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Die „Aufbackbrötchen“ haben sich leider in den Hotels fast überall eingeschlichen. Aus Kalkulatorischen Gründen verständlich, aus handwerklichen ( Bäckerei) nicht wirklich. Es geht Esskultur verloren. Die Angestellten im Restaurant ( Panorama) sind sehr freundlich und übersichtlich. Egal ob tschechischen oder deutschen, alle superfreundlich. 10 Punkte! Arbeit ist in der Gastronomie nicht einfach, es allen gerecht zu machen. Wir sind anspruchsvoll aber pflegeleicht, hier macht das Essen Spaß. Egal ob Candellight Dinner ( Geburtstag meiner Frau) oder 3 Gang Dinner, hier wird nicht gespart. Die Aufmerksamkeit mit einem Pikkolo als Geburtstagsgeschenk ist auch nicht immer üblich. Alles in allem, ein tolles Hotel, mit guter Führung und motivierten Mitarbeitern. Absolut zu empfehlen. Die Lage ist einmalig aber wer hier bucht merkt es selbst. Danke für die Gastfreundschaft.

Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und der Check-in verlief problemlos. Das Zimmer ist gut eingerichtet mit Blick auf die Bastei. Frühstück und Abendessen sind von guter Qualität. Enttäuscht sind wir darüber, dass für die Nutzung der hoteleigenen Saune eine Pauschale von 20EUR pro Person und Tag entrichtet werden muss. Das kennen wir aus keinem anderen 4-Sterne - Hotel.

Das Hotel hat genau das geboten, was wir uns gewünscht haben. Nettes, professionelles, aufmerksames Personal, ruhiges Haus in optimaler Lage.
