Barbara Studios & Apartments

Stayed in the new block of apar**ents on the top floor. Lovely and spacious with so much storage. Nice fitted kitchen area. Shower over bath which was fine. Always plenty of hot water and shower was really powerful although you had to hold the head as not fitting for it on the wall but it was perfectly adequate. Gardens are beautiful and well kept. Mosquito nets across patio doors and bathroom window which was great as we could leave them open at night. 8 euros a day if you wanted air con and no safety deposit box but neither a problem for us. Bedding and towels were clean and smelt lovely and fresh. Lovely little bar. Nice pool and plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Erato and her Mum Barbara and her Dad were so warm and friendly. Definitely be returning guests we absolutely loved staying there and it was such a relaxing place to stay .

Lovely 2 week break with family of 3 at Barbara place. We stayed around the pool late afternoon after going out exploring different beaches along the Island. Our second visit to the beautiful Island of Kefalonia. Barbara and family are lovely food is lovely cooked fresh but is quite expensive. Plenty of Taverns around Barbara studio. We loved 5 minute walk to Giros cocktail bar cheap as chips. Lots of restaurants close to Barbara and beaches are close by.

Basic clean rooms, clean swimming pool and restaurant area. Lovely friendly family run apar**ents. A local shop selling all your basics, milk bread etc. A full English breakfast is €10 Coffee Tea and juices are also available along with wine and local beers at the bar. Pool area has plenty of sun beds and no mad rush to get them. Fifteen minute walk to the beach which also had sun beds and parasol to hire at €10 per day, a small bar on the beach as well for refreshments.

I thought this was a cute little place. We came here for five nights, last minute, cheap and cheerful really. We were in a room in original building which was very dated, bathroom tiny, shower head needs replacing, however this was a budget holiday and I can't really complain given cost and that I couldn't get a caravan in UK at that price, let alone a holiday abroad. There were a couple of cons, we were squished in a room with a put up bed, three of us, the sheets sadly smelt a bit musty, and shower head really did need replacing. However this is where my cons list ended. It was a lovely pool, no scramble to reserve beds, people were fair with not reserving them. The snacks at bar were really decent. Drinks were reasonably priced. The garden surrounding old block eat really sweet, big balcony, air con was charged but again not excessively. Beach wasn't far. Airport nearby, so close for transfer, planes didn't distract. I think Erato worked her socks off, she didn't stop, friendly, polite, hardworking and would do whatever she could to help. Her parents also working but she is the face of the apar**ent really. If you want something simple, no frills, traditionally Greek, want to explore the restaurant in the vicinity, what have you got to lose. It's not for everyone, but it's not a 5* all inclusive, pays your money, takes your choice!

It was the first time we have stayed at Barbara Studios ,having read all the comments from very satisfied past customers my wife and i decided to book our holiday of 12 days at the Barbara complex, we were not disappointed in fact were were delighted. The family who run the Studios could not have been more welcoming and the place was spotless and well appointed with a large bar pool, gardens and fair priced food and drinks available all day and into the late evening,perfect for couples and families alike .

My husband, daughter and I have just returned from a great holiday at these studios. We had a first floor room with a lovely private balcony. I note that some reviewers have complained that the rooms were dated, although the rooms were basic we found them to be spotlessly clean, beds were changed after a few days and fresh towels provided. Air conditioning is available at an extra charge but would recommend as it can get very hot. Whilst the rooms were basic the welcome from Erato and her parents was warm and we were very much made to feel part of this family run establishment. They all work very hard and were very approachable, the breakfasts were lovely and we sampled local Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit and Barbara’s wonderful lemon cake. I also need to mention that Barbara makes the best chips we have ever tasted. The local restaurants are lovely but Esperides deserves a special mention as the food was wonderful and you dine in an orange grove. The location is good, quiet but Lassi and Argostoli are accessible by bus although I would add that the bus whilst cheap at 2€ a trip isn’t that regular. We went to the beach at Ai Helis which was a 15 min walk and there are a number of steps to reach the beach but it was worth it, the beach is clean and is a turtle nesting site. Sun loungers are available at 5€ per lounger. We would definitely return for a relaxing family holiday…Efcharisto Erato and family 😊

The room we were given looked nothing like what is advertised. We were told a room with a balcony or terrace and we had a basement room, with 1 small window which we couldn’t open as it was next to the pool so everyone staying in the hotel walks past it. The room was very dark, 2 single beds as a double which fell apart when we pushed them together, and the child’s fold out bed collapsed when sat on. The bathroom was dirty and very small, again with a small window next to the pool….. certainly not for a family. The kitchen fridge had no seal on it which then had a build up of dirt. The maids didn’t replace the bags in the bins just tipped them out (not the best when you can’t flush paper down the toilet!). They also were in and out of rooms smoking a cigarette as they do it. And wiping surfaces down with peoples dirty towels. The hotel staff were very friendly on arrival, but then as we spoke to the jet2 rep there whole attitude changed towards us. We spoke to the jet2 rep (angie) on our 5th day as this was the only time we have managed to catch her on her stops. Her body language looked like she didn’t want to speak to anyone, upon complaining about the room her attitude was terrible and her response to us was “what do you want me to do about it” She has then gone to speak to the hotel staff and we weren’t any the wiser just had attitude from all the staff. The hotel was offering guests to extend the rooms on the last day for €22 as the flight was late and was to ask for this 1 day prior to check out. We did this on Thursday and we was told that we had to be out by 12 as the hotel was booked however the other 3 rooms that day were aloud to extend. It feels like as we made a slight complaint to the jet2 rep, her and the hotel have singled us out leaving us and our 4year old daughter to leave the room at 12 and nowhere to leave our luggage, we asked the staff and they said to just leave it by the gates where anyone could take it. Luckily the guests next room to us kindly offered to lock our luggage in there room until we were leaving. With this we had wait around in 36 degree heat for 8 hours and no shower facilities before we left for our transfer and flight.

After reading reviews prior to our visit I was quite optimistic but on arrival I was thinking I must have read reviews of some other apar**ents. To say they are very basic is an understatement!! Hinges hanging off doors,doors not closing properly. The bathroom was appalling,leaky taps,toilet not flushing properly the door didn't shut. The beds were so uncomfortable. No safety deposit box. No courtesy room The pool area wasn't cleaned and had to accommodate people from both apar**ent blocks so to get a sunbed was quite difficult. Svronata is a lovely peaceful area with gorgeous beaches in walking distance but there are much better places to stay

If you want to relax in a gorgeous setting this is the place for you. Barbara,Papa and Erati treat you like family from the minute you walk in. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a balcony with great views. The pool is great and was like bath water last week.There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols to relax and sunbathe on around the pool. This was our second visit and are already planning our next so if you just want to chill out and totally relax what are you waiting for get it booked x
