Hotel Metropole

The Metropole is a old-style hotel with a decadent vibe. I think it’s a perfect match with Lisbon city itself. Rooms are old furnished but clean and tidy. The location is the best point. Recommended.

I would definitely stay here again. My only issue was my room was cold. I had a room overlooking Rossio plaza and the cold air would come through the windows. I had the thermostat set as high as it would go but was still cold. Other than that everything was great. Staff are very helpful and the location can’t be beat. Breakfast was good and the wifi worked well.

Loved this place and would like to come back! We stayed here on a long lay-over in Lisbon. The location was great for exploring some of the major Lisbon sights on foot. The room was HUGE compared to other rooms we've had in Europe. Our room overlooked the Plaza and the Christmas market. Despite the street below our room was quiet. The breakfast was very good and plentiful.

The hotel manager, Joao, provided us with invaluable information on how to make the most of our short stay. All the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is in the middle of downtown Lisbon, minutes away from the main tourist attractions and transport links. We look forward to returning in spring.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is very nice, and very fluent in English. We had a balcony with a beautiful view. We could see the Sao Jorge Castle on the hill. Nighttime was especially beautiful. There are a lot of little cafes on the square, which we enjoyed. Getting around is pretty easy, and if you need transportation, Uber is quick and public transportation is readily available. That was a big plus for us. It's an older hotel, but nice and clean. As long as it's clean we like an older place because of the feel of being in an old city. It didn't bother us, but if you're sensitive to noise that could be an issue because the square can get quite noisy. In fact, we enjoyed overlooking our balcony to see what it was all about. The only other con is that the breakfast isn't great, but it was good enough to get you started for the day and it was included in the stay. If you want to go out for breakfast the cafes serve breakfast/brunch. That said, we really enjoyed it and I highly recommend it.

Great location, smack dab in center of Rossio Sq close to everything we wanted to see, close to hop on/hop off busses, funicular, train station trams,riverfront. Charming hotel,great breakfast,helpful staff.

Amazingly located hotel - we had room overlooking the square and castle . Lots of shops and restaurants around. Easy to get everywhere mostly by foot. The hotel needs a bit of upgrade as its bit out of date but this way has its own charm. WiFi was good👍 We enjoyed our stay in Lisbon x

A very convenient location, easy walking to metros and restaurants and the river. The room however, was a bit noisy as it was on the back side of the hotel. I could not get the air-conditioning to work but used the large free standing fan in the room.
