CGH Résidences & Spas les Chalets du Soleil Authentiques

Situated in the Reberty 2000 area of Les Menuires, the CGH Chalets du Soleil is well located for relatively simple ski on/walk off piste access. Comparative to other CGH residences I have started, the apartment here was very small. The amenities are as you expected for the price, decent functional kitchen, sitting area (lounge) too small to accommodate the number of guests the property holds, very basic bathroom/WC facilities. Ordinarily this would be a 3/5 rating... HOWEVER... The overwhelming rancid smell of cigarettes in the apartment is disgusting. Despite it being a no-smoking hotel, ashtrays are present in the room and the odour is awful. They are clearly aware because upon arrival there was also a strong smell of fragranced floor cleaner which was trying to mask it but somehow this just made it worse. The smell is ingrained into the apartment, and for a non-smoker, this totally spoils the accommodation experience. The boot warmers/driers in the ski room lockers do not work sufficiently and your boots will be wet in the morning. When talking to reception about this they said 'because of the cost of energy head office have reduced the temperature and time these are turned on' and we were told that there was nothing they could do about it. They also said they had received many complaints from guests about this. The CGH WIFI is appalling. I mean really appalling. It is the same at every one of their venues. They advertise having WiFi but really, it's message sending at best, and definitely no streaming, downloading or significant browsing. Poor show in 2024. Staff are friendly in a clueless kind of way. This will be my last CGH holiday. The slightly lower price comes with a significantly lower experience.

We rented one of the ‘trendy’ apartments and were allocated an apartment in Chalet Natalia. The location is reasonable for access to the slopes but cannot really be described as ski in/ski out, it’s more ski out but even that is a stretch of the description; to ski out you need to take a short walk up the road and then join a ‘blue’ that allows you to ski down to one of the main runs leading to the ski area. We could not find a ‘ski in’ route except for using the same blue run and walking up it back to the road. When we stayed mid March there was virtually no snow on this ‘run’. I’ve included a picture that shows it. Our apartment did not look like it had been cleaned prior to our arrival and the floor and table/chairs were also very dusty. The lighting in all the rooms is also a bit dismal and could do with more ambient lighting. Bathrooms were well lit and the showers were excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Staff at reception were very friendly and extremely helpful. Overall we would stay here again and would recommend it but you just need to be aware of the ‘ski in/ski out description. Local Sherpa supermarket 5 mins down the road and a couple of local restaurants within walking distance.

Nice place to stay with friends and family, the ski piste is just a few meters from the place and easily. It’s like an apartment you rent, clean and modern place. Also has an indoor parking for clients. It’s my first place to stay when I go to les 3 Vallées.

There were acceptable elements of our stay but they were heavily outweighed by the long list of negatives. Overall: staff were extremely unhelpful, accommodation didn’t match advertisements or our booking confirmation, accommodation itself was fine, but not up to standard given what you’d paid for. Pros: 1. location - near a ski rental and supermarket, can ski in and out 2. Chalets are spacious Cons: 1. extremely unhelpful staff - had to call five days in a row to get the response ‘we can’t help’, claimed that they called external service providers to help but they clearly hadn’t as when challenged on it they didn’t respond. They also do not respond to emails so if you have any sort of problem they won’t help you. 2. They transferred our booking to a different chalet without informing us 3. Advertised luggage storage doesn’t exist - they just put your luggage in the reception area where everyone passes through and anyone can touch it/take it. 4. Tv is not 60 inch but 20 inch 5. Wifi is incredibly slow/doesn’t work at all - couldn’t even handle sending an email. 6. Ill equipped kitchen - only one chopping knife for cooking for 12 people 7. Some bathroom drains (shower and sink) emit a foul smell 8. Only provided one set of keys that fully opened the ski locker - the other two sets only opened one door, leaving 8 of us struggling to reach through each morning 9. Beds are really uncomfortable - everyone in our group struggled to sleep, not ideal when you are out all day skiing 10. The rooms are advertised as soundproof but they definitely are not - we were woken up each morning by the sound of the people above/around us dragging out their chairs to sit on them. It was okay because we were getting up early anyway, but imagine if you’re with young children this would be hard. Most of these things would be fine if it was just one of them, but when all of these add up it’s not a nice experience for a holiday! Definitely won’t be returning. We took the good ratings overall as a good sign, but from looking through reviews closely on here and google it seems that service has gone downhill recently.

We did stay from 11th December 2021 for 1 week and this was the first week the residence was open since March 2020. The residence is not just one building but the accommodation is located in different chalets. They have authentic chalets and trendy chalets. We booked a trendy chalet and were given an apartment in the Julietta chalet. The location in relation to the slopes is different for each chalet so I can only speak about the Julietta chalet. Reception: The people at the reception were brand new so this must not have been easy for them but they were very kind. We did have to fill in some papers, give a deposit and then we received the keys. The explanation on where to find the exact chalet could have been a bit more accurate but it turned out well. There is no parking space at the reception. Apartment: We did book an apartment of 48 m² for 6 persons for the 2 of us so we did have plenty of space. The apartment had a separate toilet, a spacey bath room with a bath tub and shower in the bath, a very well equipped kitchen with everything working perfectly, a cosy living room with a sofa bed, a spacey bed room with a double bed and a window and a very small bedroom with 2 separate beds and no windows. This last bedroom is nice for children but if you want to share the apartment with friends and family this could be a bit of a problem. Some more cupboard space would be handy, so make sure you do not book a flat that is too small. Certainly for a ski holiday with so many warm clothes that take up space. The apartment was very, very clean and we like that the cleaning is included in the rate so done professional and not by the previous occupants. Extra services: Bread service: you can order bread, croissants and pain au chocolat from the reception the day before and they are delivered to your apartment which is a great service. Parking: covered parking close to the chalet for 65 € for 1 week Ski

Cette fois nous avons opté pour un appartement contemporain ( beaucoup moins grand que les authentiques ) fonctionnel et vue dégagée sur la montagne. Nous avons apprécié l’espace sauna hammam à l’après ski mais beaucoup de monde en même temps. L’équipe sur place est très professionnelle et le service du pain devant la porte était bien utile .

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié cette vue à couper le souffle de notre balcon chaque matin sur cette semaine de ski ou le temps était favorable. La résidence est agréable et le personnel aux petits soins !
