L Oustau Camarguen

Our second trip to L'Oustau Camarguen was just as satisfying as the first. It's a very nice place to stay, possibly unique in style in the general area of Grau Du Roi, and an ideal base for exploring the area and enjoying the fantastic beaches.

very nice place, very quiet. rooms are well equipped, nice and large pool, beautiful gardens, large terrace for drinks and meals. Very large private parking. Excellent breakfast, both in quality and choice.

A great little Oasis. You can see the passion and love everywhere. I had a wonderful stay here. The staff ist really friendly which just adds to the experience. I can highly recommend the L‘Oustau!!!!

We are disappointed and saddened to write this review because we had been so looking forward to our weeks holiday at this hotel for over 6 months however what we found when we arrived (having driven from the UK) was not what we had booked, and the customer service in response to this was woeful. The main hotel does look charming as their website and Instagram suggests however we had booked a duplex room with garden terrace (confirmed by email over 6 months prior to arival) however sadly what we were given on arrival was a duplex room with a patio overlooking the car park/entrance driveway and which had two large extractor fans that whirrs out very hot air 24 hours a day, and which leaked water, making it completely unusable as a patio area, and only useful for drying clothes (see image). When we raised this with the manager on arrival we did not receive an apology, and she suggested this was caused not because of their poor customer service but because they had found a mistake on their website (our booking clearly stated we had booked a garden terrace room) and that having found the mistake they had updated their French website (but not the English one?); she said she was full so could not change our room and that we could either cancel our booking there and then (impossible for 1 week in the south of France in August, especially during a pandemic) or she would give us a discount which she would have to think about. When we asked why we were not emailed of this in advance when they discovered the problem, as would be courteous when they realised the error on their website we did not get a response. The result of their error in giving us the wrong room being that we could not sit outside the room at all as it was very unpleasant, hot, noisy and overlooked and so instead of enjoying our holiday outside each evening, instead every evening of our holiday was compromised and we all had to sit inside when the kids went to bed. We understand that their French website simply now reads you may be given a garden or a patio terrace, but it still makes no mention of the car park view nor the noisy/hot extractor fans which is unacceptable; and to charge the same price for both types of duplex room is truly shocking. The two rooms should be marketed separately. We did not receive the room we booked and having waited so long to visit for a weeks family holiday this was beyond disappointing, as was the hotels response. The small discount we received plus a free breakfast was not sufficient as to cover the negatives of the poor quality room and their response to their own error. The duplex room also had a wooden floor mezzanine so every time the children moved in their beds during the night the beds moved across the floor waking those sleeping downstairs, a rug on this wooden floor could easily stop this noise. Needless to say the hotels customer service was poor in response to this situation and also poor generally at breakfast which was under staffed as

Un très agréable séjour dans l'ensemble. Quelques points perfectibles, notamment l'organisation du service petit déjeuner, la piscine centrale qui mériterait d'être couverte la nuit et nettoyée tous les matins pour éviter les dépôts de pollen et plumes d'oiseaux. Oui le Grau du Roi est proche de la Camargue, donc les moustiques aussi, mais dommage que l'établissement ne dispose pas d'anti moustiques dans les lieux communs, notamment le bar et le restaurant (seule proposition est d'acheter leurs bougies ou spray à 19€ et 14€ !!).

Accueil au top, très chaleureux. Hôtel plein de charme avec du personnel attentionné et aux petits soins et la literie est très confortable. Le restaurant est excellent avec un service tout aussi chaleureux. L'endroit parfait pour cocooner entre amis ou en couple.

Petit havre de paix plein de charme. Tout est parfait. De l'ambiance à l'accessibilité, du confort des chambres et de leur magnifique decoration (et dans tout l'hôtel). Sejour en couple, chambre supérieure vue sur le jardin. Nous n'avons pu tester le resto qui n'etait pas encore ouvert mais avons pu profiter d'un petit dejeuner de competition avec des produits frais et locaux. Petit plus, un spa (hammam, jacuzzi, couloir de nage exterieur chauffé) en acces libre selon horaire, ou privatisable selon l'envie. Une grande piscine également avec transatw. Accueil au top, un sans faute! Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

J'ai eu un entretien avec la directrice pour un poste saisonnier. Cette personne m’a fait venir pour rien, j’habite dans un autre département et c’est indiqué sur mon CV, je lui ai demandé un entretien en visio mais elle m’a demandé si je pouvais me déplacer, ce que j'ai fait. J’ai donc fait 520 kms dans la journée et dépensé 100€ d’essence et péages. Après 3h de route et des ralentissements à Montpellier, je suis arrivée avec quelques minutes de retard, mais d’après elle ce n’était pas grave car elle faisait du ménage en vue de l’ouverture. L’entretien a duré moins de 10 minutes. D’entrée, elle a regretté de m’avoir fait déplacer car d’après elle toutes les informations étaient dans le mail et elle n’avait rien de plus à ajouter. Elle m’a également indiqué qu’elle avait envoyé le même mail à plusieurs personnes. J’ai réalisé qu’elle râtissait large afin d'être sûre de trouver quelqu'un, ce que je n’ai jamais vu ailleurs. Par conséquent, elle n’était pas plus intéressée par moi que par une autre candidate, elle ne m’a posé aucune question à part l’heure de mon départ de mon domicile. J'ai dû la relancer à 2 reprises pour avoir la réponse, cette directrice qui ne sait pas gérer les recrutements et les entretiens se délecte de son "pouvoir" sur les candidats. Elle refuse de me rembourser mes frais car d’après elle c’est moi qui ai insisté pour venir, ce qui est faux et je ne m’attendais pas non plus à cet accueil sinon je n’y serais pas allée. J'ai 60 ans et suis en recherche d'emploi, j’ai peu d’allocations et malgré ma situation précaire et son regret de m’avoir fait venir pour rien, elle considère que c’est tant pis pour moi que je n’avais qu’à lui redire une fois de plus que j’habitais loin. Elle ignore ce que c’est de chercher un travail et d’être à la merci des employeurs (mais heureusement ils ne sont pas tous comme elle). Je tiens à signaler cette désastreuse situation malgré ses menaces de poursuites pour harcèlement à mon encontre.

Merveilleux petit hôtel déco et cadre raffiné et original. Piscine avec coin jacuzzi,sauna. Personnel accueillant et chaleureux. Petit déjeuner diversifié avec produit du terroir. Location de vélo un peu vintage mais confortable . A côté du port de port camargue, un peu lon du centre du gros du roi
