My first visit to Hotel 12J afforded me an opportunity to reflect on the financial loss I had incurred over the past two years on account of staying in hotels that were much inferior than this one in every imaginable way be it the size and decor of the rooms or the quality of available services and staff but where I had to pay a higher or almost the same daily room rent. I was genuinely impressed by two things in particular; one (and this was the first of its kind during my 25-year hoteling experience in Pakistan), the sense of ownership all staff members display about the hotel and how the same effectively translates into their desire to contribute to its success by giving their best to make every guest's stay as hassle-free and comfortable as possible; and two (again a rarity) , every facility provided in the room from AC to LCD (and equally important, their remote controls) to refrigerator and lighting to furniture was in perfect working order and tasteful. Coupled with these, the courtesy extended and the youthful exuberance displayed by all team members that I had the pleasure of interacting with confirms one thing for sure: In future, I won't have to waste my time in evaluating the pros and cons of different hotels whose daily room rent matches the size of my pocket. P.S.: 1) Full marks to the food one could order a la carte through the room service. 2) The only possible area where I could identify some room for improvement would have to be that of cleanliness of rooms that too could become top class with a little extra effort.
