The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf and Leisure Resort

What a fantastic golf trip we have had here. The service is the best I have experienced, golf was brilliant , rooms are perfect. The food was really nice served with the best smiles. Thankyou so much to the team who simply can’t do enough. Would highly recommend

The staff are extremely friendly, excellent service and the food is great. Golf course great well kept. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a chilled break. Great for the whole family. Prices are also very reasonable. Thank you. See you again.

If we had known that this hotel was being used as an asylum seekers stopover we would never had considered it. We found out by chance, after booking, that it had only stopped being so at the end of April, and it showed. We had paid for an Executive double room, on another site, but the staff there, (who were very pleasant and dealt with it as best they could), said that all the double rooms were the same, (standard double), despite us paying more for the room. When we were shown to it we found a very drab, plain and totally uninviting room which was entirely below standard. We returned to the reception and were finally given what they called a Junior Suite. The photo on the web site shows a quite nice room but on looking over it we found torn quilt covers over a very thin quilt. There was no AC, but there were 2 very old electric heaters on each wall. Checking these we found that they were 4 years past their test due date, as was the towel rail in the bathroom, other items had had the test sticker torn off them. There were very dubious splash marks in the set of drawers and the carpets were stained, (we also found a used plaster in the hallway. We asked about the bar and were told that it shut at 2100 each night, as this hotel is someway from the town a taxi or car was needed to do anything after then. We decide to leave just 2 hours after arriving and booked into another hotel nearby. There seems to be some sort of renovations starting to be carried out, the place needs it. The only reason why we gave a 2 was because of the staff.

3rd time we tried to play the course and have never finished a round, twice the course should never have been open, walked off due to the course being absolutely soaked. The last time we turned up with high expectations, how wrong we were, arrived and we were surprised to see that the car park was almost empty, and it was a lovely warm sunny day. The fairways were cut to high and there was dead grass everywhere, hadn't been collected. The walk way's were awful, the hole marker board's haven't seen a lick of paint for a very long time. We all lost a few balls in the fairways, disgraceful situation. We walked off after 13 hole's. Thankfully we only paid £20, but still certainly not worth the money. The course could be very good with some TLC. We went for a drink in the bar and had to tell the barman how to pour the drinks. All in all a very disappointing day.

We had previously played the Wiltshire on two different occasions over the last couple of years and had a very good round however when we turned up today the fairways, greens and surrounding areas were shocking. There was thick grass that hadn’t been picked up on the fairways so even if you hit a good drive, you were punished by the fact that you couldn’t find it under all the dead grass and as for the first cut, that was nearly a foot long and if you went in there, it was a lost ball. The greens were not much better. A round that would normally take us a maximum of three hours ended up being 4 1/2 just because we spent so much time looking for balls on the fairway there’s no pro shop service is Patchy in the restaurant and whilst the staff are friendly, I felt that the golf course was just, something that had been totally neglected, everything looked tatty. The halfway house doesn’t look like it’s ever been open in the last six or seven years just a shocking course and one to avoid . Spoke to a member just before we left and they’ve been treated really badly and it seems like the hotel is just taking their money without giving them any benefits at all shameful.

This hotel has great potential we visit the hotel leisure facilities looking well looked after, friendly staff, coffee at the bar was very good. Not fully open yet we been told refurbishment is happening as we speak. Can't wait to visit after they up and running again, soon.

Attended a Sunday Carvey here yesterday The food was excellent - Chef Andrew and Kieran and Bushan were excellent - a few more helping hands would have been good idea as it was very popular and extra tables needed. Hopefully the Sunday Carvey will return as a regular.

We have recently joined the Wiltshire Leisure club and overall we are happy with the facilities. The Gym has had a renovation and we have found it to be nice environment to workout and to be able to look across the grounds of the club, the pool compared to the facilities we have recently used is great.

Hotel was closed but you could see people in side and 4-6 Iran people was out side shouting at one another I was totally shocked this place was Rude dirty scruffy only went to play golf with family disgrace I shall change my golf course This yous to be a lovely well respectful place to chill and know it’s all down hill very dirty
