Location is very good, right above the JR station. It’s connect to malls, very easy to find restaurants nearby. Staff are very nice

Good location highly recommended for all travellers

The location of Granvia Kyoto is excellent, right on top of Kyoto JR station which is very convenient in sight-seeing around Kyoto (and other places in west of Japan) especially during cherry blossom season. We enjoyed our 5 nights' stay there in end March while the whole city was bursting with tourists and locals all over Japan. There are also lots of restaurants nearby the area, and the underground shopping district offers a lot of fun for shopping and breakfast and lunch. For tips at dinner, may avoid going to restaurant floors in department stores as there were long queues almost for all restaurants due to peak season and we had to wait for more than 45 minutes at some points. The only drawback was there was a fire alarm (around 11 pm) during our stay, and there was broadcast from the hotel asking all guests to evacuate immediately and move down to the lobby in the middle of the night. While we appreciate that hotel was responsive out of our safety, yet since the announcement was rectified a few minutes later saying that the alarm was not due to a fire on the floor we stayed in, we would suggest that the hotel management may improve in handling similar situations in future and check in-person on the spot to confirm whether or not an emergency situation exists before asking all guests to evacuate. Apart from this everything has been perfect.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Location is perfect as it is just above Kyoto Station. The room is huge in Japanese context and they provide newspaper in the morning. Look out for bargains as I booked my room for two nights during the peak New Year period at a very steep discount, two months before my stay.

Location is unbeatable. Service is good and rooms are huge. Only complain is that the rooms (especially the toilet and shower area look dated), but that’s me being picky. Will definitely recommend!

Hotel is in a perfect location for sightseeing. It is right in the Kyoto station, which makes it very easy to catch a train, taxi or a bus. Lots of food places around, Kyoto tower right outside the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. Our only issue was the pool. If you are coming with children, the indoor pool only allows children from 7am-9am. I booked the hotel specifically for the pool and it didn’t occur to me to check if children were allowed. Unfortunately my kids do not wake up early so we were not able to use the pool at all. If pool is not important, this hotel is great and I would highly recommend staying here.
