Het Barahi Kathmandu Hotel is op een geweldige locatie, loopafstand tot grote souvenirs in Thamal, toeristische sites zoals de Droom Garden en het voormalige Koninklijk Paleis. Het hotel heeft een zwembad op niveau 7 met een groot uitzicht op Kathmandu. Het enige probleem met het zwembad is dat het wordt omgeven door het restaurant, dus niemand zwemt erin. Ik had een suite, de kamer was mooi, zeer blij met de schoonheid en de kamerservice. Het enige fout met de kamer was dat het terug naar de dienstruimte voor personeel dat allemaal zeer hard werkten, maar er was springend en klinkend de hele nacht en de hele ochtend.

The skyline restaurant is the best at sunset in this hotel. They have a transparent glass floor to watch everything under your feet. Many locals also get dressed up and come here to enjoy the million-dollar-worthy sight. You can also enjoy the buffet breakfast at the same restaurant if staying here. I used the swimming pool and sauna on 9 floor. The staff there are very attentive and friendly. Feel like a queen being there! The room is super clean and smell nice! I am amazed by the A.C. System. Believe me that’s very rare to find in Kathmandu! All is very good from the beginning of check-in and till the end. They have free drop-off transportation to airport. So I would highly recommend to book the last nights in Nepal and enjoy a relaxing evening of here!

If you're staying in Kathmandu, this hotel is a good choice. The best thing about it is that it's a new hotel (opening in 2024). Everyone, including the staff, spa staff, and breakfast staff, is very cooperative. Also, everything is well-maintained, including the showers and toilets in the rooms, Wi-Fi, electronic key cards, and internet TV. I'm sorry to say that other hotels tend to be a little older, with broken, slightly dirty, or non-working electronic devices. While it's true that older hotels have gardens and great locations, they can't compare to newer facilities. The breakfast had a nice view, too. 私は海外在住の日本人です。お子様連れの方には静かで落ち着いてるこのホテルを薦めます。もちろん一人旅も。

The hostel is located in the Thamel area, surrounded by restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs, making it super convenient to get around. The cleanliness of the hostel is decent, but they provide blankets, which probably aren't changed daily. However, the sheets and pillowcases seem to be changed regularly. The room has air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and there's hot water available. Overall, it's pretty good, especially for only eighteen bucks a night – you can't beat that value for money!

Vanaf het moment dat ik aankwam, voelde het personeel me echt welkom, de check-in was soepel en efficiënt, en ik werd gegroet met warme glimlachen en verfrissende dranken. Mijn kamer was spotloos, mooi ingericht en bood een prachtig uitzicht elke detail was gedachtenvriendelijk geregeld voor comfort en ontspanning. Het ontbijtbuffet was uitstekend, met een brede selectie van verse, smaakvolle opties om elke smaak te passen. Het huishoudelijk team hield alles perfect bij gedurende mijn verblijf. Ik waardeer ook de rustige sfeer en de uitstekende WiFi-verbinding, waardoor het ideaal is voor zowel vrije tijd als werk. Wat dit hotel echt afscheidt is het niveau van gastvrijheid. Elk teamlid ging boven en verder om ervoor te zorgen dat ik een aangename verblijf had van het aanbevelen van lokale attracties om te helpen met het vervoer. In het algemeen combineert dit hotel luxe, comfort en echte zorg op de beste manier mogelijk. Ik zou het zeer aan iedereen die het gebied bezocht, en kan niet wachten om snel weer terug te komen!

I had the most wonderful experience at Lo Mustang in November 2024. I came to Nepal for a wedding and Anisha at the front desk went above and beyond. Customer service was 10/10. I got recommendations for tailoring, jewelry, dry cleaning, and local dresses with transportation. Deepika, front desk manager, was fantastic always making sure my needs were being met and that my stay was comfortable. The hotel is in the perfect location with great amenities. I initially chose this spot because of the beautiful traditional decor. It was beautiful in person with murals on each floor. Breakfast is fantastic with a roof top view. I booked a second time on my way back home because it was so great. I traveled solo and left with new friends.

The hotel is conveniently situated right behind of the Garden of Dreams. Just a short walking distance to the busy Thamel area. The vicinity has convenience stores, cafes, eateries and pharmacy. The room is quite small but it's alright for a short stay. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable as other hotels that I've stayed. Very basic fitness facility in the hotel, do wish that they would make the gym bigger and better equipped. The breakfast buffet is good enough for some fuel before heading out to explore. Omelette could definitely be improved but I do like the mushrooms and bacon with my omelette. They also have a soup station which you can pick what you want to go into your soup. The soy latte was nicely done. Some day they serve the chocolate cake which is a must try. Staffs are very well trained and speaks good english. I'd definitely recommend staying here for the value for money, fantastic location and good hospitality.

The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

After several trips to Nepal, I finally decided to treat myself with a stay at the famous Kathmandu Guest House. So glad I did. So much peace, grace, charm and beauty .. and of course, the history!
