Hotel Yambu

The Hotel Yambu is a gem! My first visit to Kathmandu and with some research, feel I made a great selection. Small, clean, cozy rooms, a friendly, attentive team, and freshly prepared breakfast all include at a price that is very very fair! The location - on the edge of the crowded interior of Thamel - makes it easy both to wander the district and move around the city. Highly recommend. (Note: there's an on-site construction project spring/summer 2024, Some noise during the day.)

The place was really good ad the room was really clean and comfortable. The breakfast was big and delicious . Also there are many stores and shops near the hotel~so it is quite convenient for travelers who want to buy souvenirs. We really have a good time here~come and make good memories

I stayed at Hotel Yambu in Thamel for 14 days. The price was right and had the best location for my stay in Kathmandu most especially in Thamel. It has a very nice spacious roof top with an awesome view of Kathmandu Valley. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast was included and the food was great! The staff at the restaurant were very efficient, caring and friendly. The cleaning staff took care of my room when I needed it. They were awesome too! Just make sure you leave your keys at the front desk and let them know what you want done. The owner, Raj Bhatta was extraordinary. He was very friendly, helpful and has even taken me to a temple outside of Thamel. We had lunch in his home, met his family, including his wonderful son. Raj even took me to lunch in a fancy restaurant with authentic Nepali cuisine. The owner also arranged for my helicopter ride to Mt. Everest region where I captured beautiful photos and videos of this, once in a life time adventure. If I am to go back to Kathmandu again, I will definitely stay at Yambu Hotel which I highly recommend. Rus C. Boston, MA

Stayed here before and after my trek. Nice, clean and cosy hotel with great location and friendly managers. Had delicious burgers at Smashing Burger just nearby! Can't ask for more at this price point.

Excellent hospitality and staff. The hotel is clean and comfortable and situated in Thamel,wich is the best part of Kathmandu, full of bars,shops temples etc. Nice hot shower,good complementary breakfast and tea and coffee available throughout the day. Bottled water provided daily and you even have a kettle in your room. Strong WiFi also.

The host is amazing! He take care of us in any details! He also let us change our booking to better visit Nepal! They organize day tours! They are very friendly and prepared the breakfast even before then the starting day! During the Divali they let visit Ka**andu and spent time with us enjoy the dinner and sharing with us the local culture! We will never forget, we will never forget everyone in the hotel! It’s like be part of a big family but if you need privacy you will get too! Absolutely recommended ! We will be back! Thank you

I had such a great stay at Hotel Yambu! Raj the owner is so helpful and the staff were all really lovely. The room was really clean and comfortable with a great balcony on the 2nd floor. I had a great breakfast and there is a restaurant at the back which serves really good pakora and chilli momo :)

Back at Yambu. i have been here a few times and service and location is as always great. The staff is super helpful. Rooms are fine for the price range, but dont expect European standards. Breakfast is fine. Wifi works. Water pressure can be a bit low. All in all recommended for a reasonable priced hotel
