タメルエリアの中心にあるので立地は便利です。ホテルの方も優しい方ばかりで雰囲気よいです。ホテル代を抑えたい人は向いています。

Hotel Excelsior, right in the center of Kathmandu Tourist area. As in name ExcelSIOR it is Excellent place to to unwind and Plan your Trek into the mountains, valleys or even Pilgrimage. Managed by family friendly Staffs and knowledgeable of your needs. Rooms are clean with rooftop Restaurant and close to everything that a tourist needs. Room rates are reasonable, food clean and tasty. I will be more then happy to come back for future stay. The owner goes above & beyond to help when in need.

15-October-2023: Once again the team at Hotel Excelsior did not disappoint. This was my third stay and the Excelsior and it now feels like coming home each and every time. .. The Hotel is centrally located in Thamel, Kathmandu and is easy to get to. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms are clean and tidy and the cafe on the roof is an awesome sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle on the streets below. The food and beverages are superb. It really is a wonderful boutique hotel and I can't wait to return. Thanks for everything. Regards, Sam McCready

Hotel Excelsior is centrally located within the tourist area of Kathmandu. Amazing restaurants and plenty of shopping are steps away from the property. This is a boutique hotel that is quite the find amidst the chaos of downtown Kathmandu. The team is friendly and helpful, always smiling and ready to assist with anything we needed. We used the hotel as our base for trekking and the staff treated us like family. Without question, I would return to the hotel in the future and plan on staying there again on the next trip to Nepal.

The second time that I have stayed here, on the initial recommendation of a friend. The hotel location is excellent - but more importantly the staff are first class. The welcoming approach, kind engagement and attention to detail is excellent and very much appreciated. Great value for money, right in the heart of Thamel - I will be back.

Had a wonderful stay at Excelsior yet again! I always stay at excelsior whenever I visit Kathmandu, and I must say that I have always been extremely pleased with my experience. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Amazing service and friendly staff. Rooftop restaurant was impressive with amazing view and very relaxing and calming. Took a few pics of the rooftop restaurant because I loved the ambience. Convenient location right in middle of Thamel. What more can you ask for!

Another very enjoyable stay at the hotel to continue the great experiences I've had there for more than 20 years. The hotel is ideally located in Thamel, just off the main streets but very handy to a local supermarket and other shops. Its also just a short distance from the main taxi location and is very easy to get to when coming from the airport. The rooms at the hotel are really well maintained and kept clean, the cleaning staff always have a smile and a "Namaste" when you pass by. The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful for things like organising a taxi to come to the front door when going to the airport. The rooftop restaurant is great, with a good variety of food, quick and very friendly service, and it is a very relaxing place to just hang out. Its worth going there for a meal or a coffee even if not staying at the hotel. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Nepal and staying at the Excelsior again.

August 2022 In the late 1970´s both of us, Tom as well as Peter, went to Nepal seperately for the first experiences in the beautiful Himalaya Range. In the following 20 years we did many treks and became addicted to Nepali culture and landscape. We saw and experienced a lot, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Like the majority of tourists in the 70´s both of us looked first for a hotel in or near “Freak Street”. Later on, Thamel became more attractive, so both of us stayed there in several hotels. Tom became tourleader for the Royal Dutch Alpine Club and as successor decided to use the same hotel as the previous tourleader, since the experience with this hotel was positive. Hotel Excelsior is in Thamel, a hotel with a very friendly staff and the owner proved to be very kind and helpful! In 1998 Peter and Tom met each other on the trek Around the Dhaulagiri, organised by the Royal Dutch Alpine Club. Peter as a member and Tom as tourleader. From the first moment we had a click and became friends. From 1998 till 2019 Peter and Tom stayed in hotel Excelsior many times together or seperately with their family members. Due to the global Covid-19 situation in 2020-2021, a very difficult time started for the tourist industry in Nepal. Many hotels had to close their doors or had to reduce their staff. In the autumn of 2021 Nepal went open again for touists. Tom wanted to go a.s.a.p. to Nepal again and contacted the owner of hotel Excelsior. The hotel was still closed due to a lack of tourists, but he was able to organise for Tom a place to stay. Early Spring of 2022 Tom went to Nepal again, for the Schoolproject Peter and Tom are doing in the Kathmandu valley. Again the owner of hotel Excelsior found a way to accomodate Tom. The approach was unbelievable again. The helpfulness and the network of the owner and the hotel staff proved to be excellent. Since May 2022 hotel Excelsior is open again.
