Hanthan Eco Lodge

It was my dream to visit the filming location of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at Hanthana and with the help of Hanthana Eco Lodge, I had a great tour to realize my dream! Their friendly driver Samantha drove me in their awesome jeep over a adventurous mountain road with beautiful views of the tea plantation, followed by a hike in the jungle to find the shrine stone used in the movie for the 'sankara stone'. Samantha also helped me make some great photos with it. Highly recommended!

The best hotel ever visited!! You can't just go from it! You get attracted to the environment,food,the service. Nandana was the most cheerful waiter ever!! He always has a smile on his face. Melanie too gives the best in her service!! Will recommend it to my friends and relatives too!! Please add signboards to the hotel. Otherwise we will get difficult to get there. The Rocky Cove room clearly has stones and the bathroom too had stones on the ground. Best hotel ever visited!! Thank you once again for the service!! Shall come back again!!

When you enter to the property you will feel that you are at home. That much genuine and warm welcome they provide from the entrance. We have booked Rockey Cave family room. Room was super comfortable and had amazing view. If you really need a vacation far away from the city, this is the best place for your vacation. Food was so delicious. All the staff are so friendly and genuine. Specially need to mention Mr. Nandana who was providing personalised service during our stay. We will be definitely coming back to this wonderful place.

Fantastic getaway to the mountains to luxury rooms or tents, wonderful staff and food and guided climbs/walks in the hills with Joseph. Wonderful panoramas and fresh fresh air…..far from the polluted air of Kandy Centre

A Beautiful location and comfortable rooms friendly staff Very clean rooms and the open restaurant is nice with breeze very good utmost . The cabana room is so beautiful with the water fall and the garden flowers tasty food and the tea was exelent

Our stay at Hantana Eco Lodge was exceptional! The staff, notably Nandana and Joseph, were incredibly polite and went above and beyond. Joseph's guidance during the hike was a highlight. The food, with its delicious Sri Lankan flavors, was a treat. Safety was a top priority, perfect for our group of girls. We can't wait to return!

Spacious room with a mountain-view's balcony. Room has enough facilities. Hospitality is great. Food is average. The location is good. Less water in a small waterfall in dry season. The road up to the hotel is carpeted.

Had a wonderful stay at this place. A nicely built environmental friendly cottages, with ample space for couples / families. We stayed at the "Rocky Cove" cottage where 4 adults could stay comfortably, and it is with AC. The food was so delicious and we have the option of selecting from 2 - 3 menu options. The staff were very helpful and the place is maintained with a great cleanliness. Surrounding are eye catching and the cool climate in the evening is a treat to feel. You can go on trecking along the pathways and one special attraction is climbing the mountain a little far away from the Lodge. Joseph, who is working there is the best person to accompany on that hiking / hill climbing . He is an innocent person with a friendly approach and has a very good knowledge around the area and soecially the pathway to the top of the mountain. Once climbed to the top you reach the perfect place to have a 360° breathing view around a vast area. It's not that hard to climb, yet, you have to be very careful since a little unbalanced move might result in serious damages. Don't worry, I am 55 years old and my wife too 55 years old and we both, without any hard difficulty managed to climbed to the top of the mountain along with our daughter. Joseph's support and guidance made it become true . They also have a jeep by which you can have a ride along a some distance and they charge Rs. 6,000/- for a ride, and the jeep can on board about 4-6 people, they say. You can also have a trecking around the area, and I should suggest that you go for the hill climbing very early in the morning and have a trecking around the are in the afternoon / evening . Overall, it's a very good family stay, and so very suitable for a group stay occupying the whole site. They have a nice place to have a bonfire and BBQ arrangements . A very pleasant and relaxing experience ........ a treat to cherish ... !

Best places I have being to when it comes to genuin caring for the needs of the visitors. Once the kids refused the ordered dinner! But the staff having got to know this acted without hesitation to prepare a meal of their choise again( With no added cost). Even small things we requested were accomodated happly with no second thoughts. beautifully gardened and superb house keeping. Nice rooms and bath too.
