Grand Aquarium

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The apar**ent was lovely and modern and had everything we needed. The location was great for exploring the local area and further afield. Our toddler absolutely loved the heated pool. However we were a little disappointed by how loud it is around the complex, loud music being played from 11am until the early hours made it sometimes difficult to sleep. We booked via a package deal and there was no mention of any loud music / loud entertainment so it was a bit of a shock. As mentioned, we still enjoyed our 1 week stay.

My daughter and I were here for 10 days and had a great stay. We had a two bedroom apar**ent in the main part of the hotel, overlooking the pool. The rooms looked newly refurbished, were spotless and the beds firm but very comfortable. The manageress, Saliye, was very helpful, giving us all sorts of tips and information. Each and every one of the staff were friendly, and great with my daughter, who has some learning disabilities. The pool was adequate and warmed to a nice ambient temperature. The location of the hotel is just a short dolmus ride away from the main part of town, or a leisurely stroll of about 15 mins. Overall, we could not fault this Apart Hotel. Will most certainly visit here again.

We spent 10 days at the grand aquarium and enjoyed every second. Id read other reviews of people feeling like family and feeling welcomed etc, I'm not a people person so I didn't think too much of being involved. How wrong I was, it's like the comfort and reassurance that you're welcome and wanted, just consmes you. The staff here are beyond amazing. So helpful, respectful, accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Saliye, the host makes sure she greets everyone personally each day, makes sure everyone is happy and will stop for a chat if you want to. Just lovely. We were looked after mostly by Mehmet, such a lovely caring genuine man. All of the other staff were equally as pleasant and helpful, but Mehmet went above and beyond. The hotel itself is a little out of the main town, a brisk walk or short taxi ride. Taxis are usually at the front of the hotel or 2 minutes away if called. You can also get a dolmus, small bus, from the main road. I loved Icmeler. Quiet and sleepy compared to Marmaris. But as expected there is a larger variety of things in the city. I also have to give a special mention to Yasin, @master_of_hairr the on site hair dresser. He worked absolute magic with my hair (after illness) and made me feel like a mermaid I also had my nails done and a turkish bath on site, all just as amazing with the same high level of care and attention. After the pampering, we had a lovely holiday photoshoot with Mesut, the on site photographer. Not only did we look fabulous, we now have photos to prove it Thank you all for a lovely, family holiday xx

Room was amazing, very nice and modern, shower was huge and pillows were really comfy. Had a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Water was not working when we arrived due to construction but was back on after we went out and got dinner. Safe in the room is an extra £10 per week. Personal WiFi for the room also costs more and air con for 1 is £35 and 2 is £55 for a week although we didn't feel like it was needed. Pool was amazing, very big but quite deep, slide runs daily from 11-11.45 and 2-2.45 and I have to say it was amazing, me and my partner used it almost every day. The restaurant was nice but we only ate and drank there for Turkish night, it was an extra 700 lira per person for a bbq, dance act and foam party which was well worth it. I am vegetarian so they provided me a pizza as well. The hotel is lovely and clean with all staff members very attentive. Also very close to icmeler centre, within walking distance. Would definitely stay again!!!

Back home after an amazing second stay at the grand. 12 nights just wasn't long enough. The grand is somewhere me and my family will always return. What's not to love? Perfect location, AMAZING attentive fun staff who can't do enough for you - shout-out to my favs (you know who you are) 😘 gorgeous food, lovely clean rooms and that heated pool is just lush!!! 😍 cannot wait to return.. ❤️

This place is home from home, saliye is the best hostess and the entertainment staff are amazing especially efe and cedric those boys are true diamonds 💎 Mehmet in the restaurant what a guy, and I cannot leave this review without mentioning the legend and master of hairdressing yasin. What a king! He knows hair like noone else and will leave you feeling a million dollars.

I couldn’t have met friendlier people .The hotel was immaculate. And the staff very friendly The food in the restaurant was amazing and if you wanted could eat in your room and the would deliver it . I can’t thank the staff for helping me enjoy the rest of my holiday after a terrible start . Thanks so much all of you . Rachel Murray

Booked this on a bit of a whim, not really taking package holidays or having been to Turkey before. We had the most fantastic time. Our 2 teenagers enjoyed the foam party which was well organised - with one of the staff in a life jacket brushing the foam away from the pool edge - and appreciated the laughs with the entertainment team Cedric and Eddie. Saliye the manager was outstanding: committing names to memory after just one day and checking in with guests each day whilst they were around the pool/walking about the hotel. My daughter had her hair cut by the on-site 'master of hair' who did an excellent job and although we didn't buy anything from him, the young guy in the jewellery shop - whose name escapes me - was absolutely lovely and really interesting to talk to about life in Turkey. Our apar**ent had a whirlpool bath on the huge balcony and the mosquito nets built into the doors just in case any flying critters decided to try and get in were a great touch. The decor was modern and stylish and we all found the beds/sofa beds really comfortable (they were quite firm so maybe that's why others have found them a bit uncomfortable?). The mini kitchen was enough to prepare light meals or snacks. We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times and the food was good - freshly squeezed orange juice by the pool = delicious! Slightly elevated prices but not unexpected within a hotel. £16 a head for the 'Turkish night'/bbq/foam party seemed ok to me. You charge a card up at Reception to pay for drinks/food which made things easier. WiFi was ok - didn't really reach the bedroom at the rear of the hotel reliably but I had rented a hotspot as my son needed guaranteed WiFi for his revision, so not a a problem for us. I would imagine that in Summer you'd need air con which I think might be payable (or maybe you get one room free and pay for the second- worth checking if this matters to you). All in all, we would absolutely, 100% recommend this hotel. We loved everything about it. They are like a family and I had read reviews saying guests feel like part of the family- I can understand why; so amazingly friendly from check in through to check out. Most impressive. Saliye was very keen to hear about any improvements to be made and we struggled to find anything major (or minor for that matter) for the price point. Incredible value for money! Shout out to the housekeeping staff too who were also super friendly: Cemille who cleaned our apar**ent was a star and very patient in the face of me trying to use my (very poor) Turkish with her! Ironically, Içmeler isn't really my thing but the Grand Aquarium gets a big thumbs up.

I originally booked to stay at a sister hotel that wasn't very nice and popped here to use the pool for the afternoon. So glad I did as when I arrived and spoke with the front desk they went out of their way to get me transferred over within half an hour at a very reasonable extra £10 a night. The hotel is lovely with a nice heated pool, amazing welcoming team and the rooms are possibly the best I've stayed in whilst in Turkey. The only downside to the place was the price of food and drink. It is very expensive but then again all of Marmaris and Icmelar are extremely expensive in comparison to last year. I just have a thing about paying more for a beer in the hotel than I pay at my local back in England. Next time I come to Turkey I will certainly be going all inclusive to counter the price increases everywhere
