환도 자전거여행중에 머울렀던 숙소입니다. 새로 개업한 숙소로서 아주 훌륭한 숙소입니다. 무엇보다도 사장님 부부의 친절함에 감동 받았습니다. 다시 머울고싶은 숙소 이기에 앞으로도 더욱 번창하길 빕니다.

One of the better (if not the best) hotel chains I’ve stayed at in Taiwan. I’ve visited Taiwan about 10 times and stayed here for 2 nights, and overall I was very satisfied with the experience. They provide free bicycles (3 hours limit), which is useful for getting around Hualien. Breakfast has a good spread, and there are complimentary ice cream and drinks available in the lobby around the clock. We didn’t realise they also offer late-night supper from 7pm to 9pm, which was honestly as good as a proper dinner buffet, with a good mix of Western and Chinese dishes and even live entertainment. The room was spacious and well maintained, with no hygiene concerns. Shower water pressure was good. Noise levels were generally fine, though louder sounds like furniture movement could occasionally be heard. The hotel is conveniently located near a convenience store, restaurants, KTV, and a cinema, and it’s about a 10-minute walk from the station. You can also cycle to the night market within 15 minutes, making it super easy to get around the main area without getting a taxi. Overall, a very good stay and very good value for money. While a gym would be nice, I would definitely consider staying at other branches on future trips.

Everything was spot on! Great location to explore Taroko National Park and little walk around the hotel was also good. It’s also convenient that we could use the hotel’s facilities till 3pm even after checking out. Would love to come back to stay.

The room is bigger than the picture shown on the website. Good location, opposite the hotel has family mart,McDonald and KFC.. walk 3 mins and have breakfast shops. The hotel staff are very friendly.

The quiet surroundings guarantee a restful night's sleep, away from the noise and distractions of the city. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat and prioritize exceptional service over extensive on-site facilities, Lakeshore Hotel Hualien is an excellent choice. The quiet, picturesque location, coupled with the staff's unwavering commitment to guest comfort, makes it a worthwhile stay, especially for those with their own transportation. While you'll need to drive to access nearby attractions and dining, the hotel's tranquil ambiance and remarkable service create a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Overall a good experience (except one thing - see in the bottom). The location is somewhat central and on the walking promenade, but not very close to the railway station or the waterfront. About 25-35 min walk to the railway station but still okay. About 15 min to the waterfront. Food options: there are a couple of local restaurants right near across from the promenade, including a noodle shop, a tempura donburi and a fried seafood place - all along the promenade. There's also a PX Mart not too far away, about 5 min walk. The rooms are spacious and clean, very new renovation (as of 2025, seems like 2023-2024), no fridge in the room (on the first floor only), but there's a kettle. The bed was somewhat stiff but okay. Overall felt like great value for the location and the quality, and especially the room size. The only drawback - Easy to fix - was the towels. There was no proper size bathroom towels on my stay in May 2025. The small towels are rather insuficcient for showering.

Very positive experience. Place is quite nice if you look for a decent Hostel in Hualien (even though it might look a little bit run down from the outside). Nice roof top terrace for a night cup and 24h free flow coffee/tea is a plus. Communication with the front desk staff varies a lot, depending on the individual English language skills of the staff on duty, but has never been a real issue. Moreover, we‘ve been quite surprised having a German speaking guy there the day we‘ve checked in.

Good service and nice room overall. Good Chinese style breakfast. Check in kiosk is used, which is interesting, however still need to go to reception for the breakfast voucher. Location is not the best, 15 minutes walking from Jian train station and pretty much no other public transport nearby. I ordered a taxi from the reception.

During my recent trip to Hualien, I had the unique opportunity to stay at the Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel, and it truly exceeded my expectations. As soon as I arrived, the prison theme instantly caught my attention. The rooms were designed to resemble prison cells, which added an intriguing and immersive element to my stay. One thing that stood out to me was the absence of a traditional reception desk. Instead, to gain entry, all guests need to do is call the contact number provided, which adds a touch of mystery to the experience. The lady working there was exceptionally helpful and patient, even taking the time to explain how to use the facilities in Chinese. Her assistance made my stay all the more enjoyable. As a solo traveler, I couldn't help but appreciate the eerie vibes that the place exudes, especially since I'm a fan of horror. Every night, I found myself immersed in an atmosphere that perfectly catered to my taste. It's not often that you come across a hostel that provides such a unique and thrilling ambiance. Cleanliness is always a priority for me, and I was pleased to find that Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel did not disappoint in this aspect. The rooms were well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. The convenient location of the hostel was also a major plus, making it easy for me to explore and enjoy everything that Hualien has to offer. In conclusion, if you're an adventurous traveler seeking a one-of-a-kind experience, I highly recommend checking out Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel. With its prison-themed rooms, helpful staff, eerie ambiance, and convenient location, it's an ideal choice for those looking to add an exciting twist to their trip. It's clean, it's close to the train station, where you can rent a scooter to explore Taroko National Park, also have a gas station next door to refill your scooter and you are next to the main road to go to the National Park. There is enough stuff to cook yourself something. Communication with the landlord on self check-in went well and I could check-in earlier because my bed was free, actually I was the only guest in the dorm on my first of two nights. It was calm and the entire hostel & bathroom was very clean. I liked, that you can buy razors, one-way towels, toothbrush kit for a small fee, even if I didn't need it. The only downside, and that's why I gave it -3 stars in amenity was, that the mattress was so hard, it felt like sleeping on the floor. The room had a bit of strange moisture smell, but I could get used to it quickly. If there would be a thicker, less hard mattress, that place would get total points. On the back door / balcony you have a nice view of the mountains. (The picture attached is taken from the road, but if you crop the lower half, it's what you see)
