Hotels bij Farglory Ocean Park, Hualien

환도 자전거여행중에 머울렀던 숙소입니다. 새로 개업한 숙소로서 아주 훌륭한 숙소입니다. 무엇보다도 사장님 부부의 친절함에 감동 받았습니다. 다시 머울고싶은 숙소 이기에 앞으로도 더욱 번창하길 빕니다.

Everything was spot on! Great location to explore Taroko National Park and little walk around the hotel was also good. It’s also convenient that we could use the hotel’s facilities till 3pm even after checking out. Would love to come back to stay.

Toen we die avond in het hotel aankwamen, vroegen we de dame achter de balie om ons te helpen met de incheckprocedure. Ze vroeg ons echter om zelf via de machine in te checken. Als gevolg daarvan moesten we heen en weer tussen de twee gebouwen, maar konden we nog steeds niet inchecken. Later gingen we terug naar de vorige balie en vroegen de dame om ons te helpen met inchecken. Ze zei dat er misschien iets mis was met de machine. Ik was zo geschokt. Daarnaast had ik twee kamers geboekt, één voor twee personen en één voor één persoon. Toen de dame achter de balie ons de toegangskaarten gaf, vertelde ze ons er niet bij dat de kamers uit één grote en één kleine bestonden. Pas de volgende dag kwamen we erachter dat wij tweeën in het kleine kamertje verbleven. Ik denk dat ze ons dit had moeten vertellen, zodat we met z'n tweeën in de grote kamer konden verblijven, zonder dat het zo vol zat. Er was bovendien geen drinkwater op de kamer, hetgeen het receptiepersoneel ons niet van tevoren had gemeld. Toen we later belden om te informeren, bleek het op de eerste verdieping te zijn. Het hotel had de reizigers hier vooraf over moeten informeren, maar dat deden ze niet. Dit was een verschrikkelijke reiservaring.

Deze keer werd ik uitgenodigd om een ​​lezing te geven aan de Hualien Agricultural University, en mij werd aangeraden om in Chengyi te verblijven. Toevallig verbleef mijn man ook in Chengyi toen hij naar Hualien ging, dus boekte ik natuurlijk een kamer. De locatie is geweldig en het is maar een klein stukje lopen vanaf het treinstation. De prijs is zeer betaalbaar, de kamer is krap (ik verbleef in een tweepersoonskamer), het ontbijt is verdeeld in tijdvakken en de eettijd is een uur, wat een beetje krap is. De maaltijden zijn heel gewoon en je kunt er grof en vol eten. De lobby is erg literair, en dat vind ik prettig. Er is een klimwand voor kinderen, wat handig is voor kinderen die lopen, maar volwassenen moeten wel naast hen lopen, want het is tenslotte een beetje gevaarlijk. Over het algemeen kan het een beoordeling van boven de 4,5 krijgen. Suggesties: Ga lekker in de lobby zitten, kijk vanuit de kamer naar de bergen en geniet van de sfeer van spelen en ontspannen.

The room is bigger than the picture shown on the website. Good location, opposite the hotel has family mart,McDonald and KFC.. walk 3 mins and have breakfast shops. The hotel staff are very friendly.

Overall a good experience (except one thing - see in the bottom). The location is somewhat central and on the walking promenade, but not very close to the railway station or the waterfront. About 25-35 min walk to the railway station but still okay. About 15 min to the waterfront. Food options: there are a couple of local restaurants right near across from the promenade, including a noodle shop, a tempura donburi and a fried seafood place - all along the promenade. There's also a PX Mart not too far away, about 5 min walk. The rooms are spacious and clean, very new renovation (as of 2025, seems like 2023-2024), no fridge in the room (on the first floor only), but there's a kettle. The bed was somewhat stiff but okay. Overall felt like great value for the location and the quality, and especially the room size. The only drawback - Easy to fix - was the towels. There was no proper size bathroom towels on my stay in May 2025. The small towels are rather insuficcient for showering.

Very positive experience. Place is quite nice if you look for a decent Hostel in Hualien (even though it might look a little bit run down from the outside). Nice roof top terrace for a night cup and 24h free flow coffee/tea is a plus. Communication with the front desk staff varies a lot, depending on the individual English language skills of the staff on duty, but has never been a real issue. Moreover, we‘ve been quite surprised having a German speaking guy there the day we‘ve checked in.

Very close to Ocean Park. Good service attitude, late arrivals also provide self-check-in, breakfast is delicious, comfortable environment ～～ The sky is full of stars at night, and the sea view is seen during the day.

As a solo traveler, I couldn't help but appreciate the eerie vibes that the place exudes, especially since I'm a fan of horror. Every night, I found myself immersed in an atmosphere that perfectly catered to my taste. It's not often that you come across a hostel that provides such a unique and thrilling ambiance. Cleanliness is always a priority for me, and I was pleased to find that Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel did not disappoint in this aspect. The rooms were well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. The convenient location of the hostel was also a major plus, making it easy for me to explore and enjoy everything that Hualien has to offer. It's clean, it's close to the train station, where you can rent a scooter to explore Taroko National Park, also have a gas station next door to refill your scooter and you are next to the main road to go to the National Park. There is enough stuff to cook yourself something. Communication with the landlord on self check-in went well and I could check-in earlier because my bed was free, actually I was the only guest in the dorm on my first of two nights. It was calm and the entire hostel & bathroom was very clean. I liked, that you can buy razors, one-way towels, toothbrush kit for a small fee, even if I didn't need it. The only downside, and that's why I gave it -3 stars in amenity was, that the mattress was so hard, it felt like sleeping on the floor. The room had a bit of strange moisture smell, but I could get used to it quickly. If there would be a thicker, less hard mattress, that place would get total points. On the back door / balcony you have a nice view of the mountains. (The picture attached is taken from the road, but if you crop the lower half, it's what you see)
