I have been a satisfied customer of booking com for many years however, on arrival at Khao Tao Beach Lodge, Old Siam, (Monday 9th October 2023) we were shocked that the accommodation was absolutely nothing like the photographs on the *********** website; there were no sheets (bed linen) on the beds; no doors on the bathrooms; the chairs, tables and sun beds were dirty and broken; and the restaurant was closed. Being a family with children we always book accommodation with breakfast and a restaurant. The children were hungry, after traveling for 4 hours, and on arrival we were told that there was no immediate access to food and drink for them. It was extremely embarrassing for us - having to make an excuse to leave the resort. Added to that we had to find somewhere else to stay. As my contract is with ***********, and not with the resort, I expected a full refund - for fraudulent advertising however, so far, I have received no confirmation that this will happen. I am appalled that I am now paying for suitable accommodation and, whilst on holiday, having to send *********** numerous emails to get customer satisfaction - for the lies that were fed us - regarding Khao Tao Lodge. Being told that I can write a review about the resort, which incidentally is refusing to refund my money, is highly insulting; surely it is *********** responsibility to write an accurate description of the accommodation which they advertise? I feel that I have been lied to and also robbed.
