"3 different types of onsen , amazing breakfast with huge selection of food, amazing spacious rooms with an amazing view of the river. Only spent 1 night here but would’ve easily stayed another if we had time. The building is well maintained and the onsen was so good I had 3 sessions even though we were only here for 1 night. "Dit was ons t****e verblijf in dit hotel sinds 2019. De meeste obers zijn inmiddels afkomstig uit Zuidoost-Azië, en met uitzondering van het management zijn de meeste obers buitenlanders. Het landschap is nog steeds prachtig, maar de ervaring is veel slechter dan voorheen. De borden waren niet goed neergezet en het was een puinhoop. Het was de slechtste ervaring die ik in meer dan tien jaar heb gehad in een hotel met warmwaterbronnen. Wat nog overdrevener is, is dat er tijdens ons diner meer dan een uur lang 50.000 yen uit mijn tas verdween (de tas zat in de koffer, en de koffer was niet op slot). Dit is de eerste keer dat ik dit in Japan meemaak."

"This is a fabulous place for an authentic Japanese holiday. The location is beautiful. The outdoor hot spring bathing area is clean and looks like a movie set. The included meals are generous in portion size and are delicious. Our room overlooked the river and it was great. Tatami floors and shoji screen windows. This is an old and historic place and does not cater to western norms. You sleep on futons on the floor. Only Japanese food is available. But it is a wonderful place to spend some time."

"It was a short walk away from the Minakami Onsen bus stop and the room was clean. Loved the private onset overlooking the river as well. We didn't have breakfast there as the price was a little steep for us (~27 SGD) but there's a nearby bakery and other F&B, so food was not an issue. They provide PJs and a cardigan to put over as well. Staff was nice too."

"We stayed for three nights during the Obon holiday this summer. Both the owner and the manager were incredibly kind, and thanks to them, we had a very comfortable stay. We opted for the breakfast and dinner plan, and I was a little worried if our two elementary school children would find anything they liked, but we decided to make it an experience. As it turned out, they managed to eat quite a few things. Coincidentally, there was a flute performance on one of the days, and enjoying our meal with the beautiful music was absolutely delightful! In the summer, there's a shaved ice service in the lounge. Our kids would stop by after dinner or after their onsen bath, and eat shaved ice at the counter like regulars. The onsen (hot spring) varied between lukewarm and hot. When I asked the owner, he explained that the temperature of the spring water changes daily, so it's not a fixed temperature. Sometimes you expect it to be hot and it's lukewarm, or you think it'll be lukewarm and it's hot – you really couldn't predict it! (laughs) In terms of location, the hotel was very convenient for our travel plans, with canyoning, rafting, Mogura Station, and michi-no-eki (roadside stations) all nearby. The photo shows the shelf visible from the counter seats. It's full of the owner's favorite alcoholic beverages (laughs). He's apparently happy to chat if you'd like company, so why not say hello? ^_^ On the evening of the third day, we booked the table tennis table and enjoyed a family game after dinner. Playing table tennis in yukata was a lot of fun for the whole family! They also have karaoke, apparently! (laughs) We saw some reviews mentioning communication issues with foreign staff, but they used their phones to communicate, and they were always quick to respond, so it wasn't an issue for us at all. It's a place we'd love to visit again if we have the chance. We really enjoyed our three-night stay in a clean room. Thank you so much for everything!"

"This is my second time here, and it's close to Minakami Station, so it's perfect for a spontaneous solo trip to see the snow. The building is very spacious, but it's well-cleaned and a very clean inn. There are many foreign staff members, but they are well-trained and more friendly and polite than the average Japanese. The dinner and breakfast buffets are delicious, and the hot springs are very good, both in the private baths and the large public baths. I was worried that there would be a lot of foreign group tourists and that it would be noisy, but I got the impression that they were all well-mannered foreign tourists. I would like to come to this inn every year when it snows."

"地點稍微偏僻，年長男性接待人員非常熱心，房間空間大維持得也不錯，但是感覺得出來建築物的年紀。餐點蠻好吃的，不過有幾道料理偏西式，吃得沒有很習慣，比較想吃到的是當地傳統料理。整體而言是令人放鬆的旅館。"

"A little old but solid building with facilities. Originally for national public servants? I stayed as a visitor at the facility. It may be unavoidable because it is a visitor, but the meal was a room meal. The food was very delicious. We recommend a small family bath next to the large communal bath. Maybe it's a free-flowing bath."
