Very kind, friendly and accommodating staff members. One of the most beautiful places we have been to. Will definitely be visiting soon. Nature was overwhelming. Only issues - River Tubing facilities needs to be more accommodating for example the tubes we burst we could only use one. Owners should consider more swimming areas for kids.

A very relaxing break in a beautiful cottage with a lovely garden, and the Umzimkulu river on our doorstep. Great facilities for families and excellent customer service. We very much hope to visit again.

Lovely accommodation in the most beautiful and tranquil setting. Gorgeous views all around. We enjoyed the walking trails on the property and exploring the surrounding area. Cottage was comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Umzimkulu River Lodge

This is a beautiful property, checking in as a breeze and I definitely be back. This is the perfect breakaway if you need a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. The views of the river from the rooms are stunning. I can’t wait to book my next stay.

We stayed in the comfortable Pet Friendly two-bed-room cottage. Securely fenced, plenty space for the dogs. Serviced daily by friendly and helpful staff. Verandah and lounge great spots for sitting still, reading. For us the main attraction were the walks and fantastic swimming opportunities in the river. Hosts Steve and Lyn were helpful when asked - just a whatsapp message away. No hesitation in recommending.

We had a fantastic getaway with the family! Really nice hiking trail along the river. Beautiful views of the river and surrounding mountains. Friendly staff and well equipped lodges. Beautiful gardens and fantastic bird life. Does need a bit of upkeep but there is noticeable effort. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay at Umzimkulu River Lodge. The fishing and birding was excellent, and the beautiful surroundings meant we had no reason to leave. Nono was super kind and helpful, and the escape from all/any screen time did our boys a world of good. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

We had a lovely time at the cottage. Hearing the river and the birds all the time is really relaxing. The cottage is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished and everything we needed was there. Very clean. Smells of furniture polish and something that I assocaite with older, well-lived in places - very homely.

whether you are a walker, fisherman or just wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of the city I would highly recommend Umzumkulu Lodge. The cottages are lovely, clean and very well equipped. The owners are most accommodating. The cherry on top for me was, as they new I was coming on a fishing trip, the river was in total flood, they even gave me the opportunity to postpone! Wonderful people, wonderful place. If you have never been, I would highly recommend it!
