Reception were very welcoming and as first time visitors gave us a quick tour and got us settled in quickly and given early access to our room. The food throughout our stay was really lovely, one of the best steaks I’ve eaten. The spa facilities were great and we had a very relaxing time. We swapped our trea**ent with no hassle which was great and my facial with Tatiana was amazing. My mum who had the same trea**ent as me with a different therapist, although she enjoyed her’s, when I talked through my experience compared to hers she definitely did not receive the same high quality trea**ent that I did, for instance I had a leg rest, a headband, neck/shoulder rub as well as a hand massage, lavender pillow spray and a bowl to pop my jewellery in, none of which she had in her trea**ent session. By the biggest disappoin**ent was our room ☹ I joked when being shown round when she showed us how to find room 58 as it’s easy to get confused as the room number didn’t make it to the plaque on the wall that we were in the broom cupboard. Well we were! 1. When we walked in the room the first thing I noticed was the strange wonkiness of the beds. The head end of the bed is an inch and a half lower (maybe more I don't take a tape measure on spa breaks!) than the foot end, very strange. But we thought we’ve got big fluffy pillows it won’t be a bother. 2. When we came into the room we had to kill a number of mosquitoes, again not to much of a bother as nature is nature. We kept the window shut whilst not in the room. Unfortunately when we went back to the room after dinner we discovered more mosquitoes, how when the window was shut? On closer inspection there is approx. 1cm gap between the windows. We had to stuff the window with toilet paper to stop them coming in. 3. Very louds rumbling noises around lunchtime, so loud it sounded like large furniture being moved about. Having only just got in our room around 12pm we put it down to cleaners moving furniture in the next room as it was still being cleaned, again thinking that’s no bother as we’re heading straight out to the spa anyway! 4. The bathroom although looking a bit tired was adequate, but the gap around the back board behind the toilet is thick with gross grey dust. It’s the small attention to detail like that I would expect when visiting Champneys. 5. We headed back to our room after dinner to relax with some home pampering only to discover the loud rumbling was back and then worked out our room was under the restaurant and it was the trolley rumbling across the floor, backwards and forwards. Very annoying and not relaxing for us as guests and this continued until around 10pm. 6. And the pièce de resistance was the 7am wake up call to water aerobics starting in the pool area with its booming music. Honestly I was gutted, this is my first night away childfree in 5 years and I couldn’t even have the much needed lie in that I very much needed. Everything else we just accepted and even j
