The Barefoot Eco Hotel

Het hotel ligt in een prachtige natuurlijke omgeving. Voor mensen die van water en watersporten houden is het goed vertoeven. Het strand en de zee zijn fantastisch. Onze hotelkamer uitstekend, ruim en comfortabel. Wij hadden beachfront, was een goede keus, direct aan het strand. Het personeel is vriendelijk en doen hun best om jou een goed gevoel te geven. Het eten is elke dag prima, speciaal op donderdag dan is er eten van de Malediven. Het is leuk om het dorp te bezoeken voor eten bij plaatselijk restaurant of het kopen van snack. Reis van en naar eiland/hotel was goed geregeld.

Barefoot eco hotel The hotel is a ECO hotel, so it's a green hotel, but it's worth every star. Our holiday at the barefoot eco hotel started at the Hanimaadhoo airport. When we arrived there were employees from the hotel that waited for us and took us to the hotel by car. It was a warm welcome at the hotel (not only the weather) with a nice non-alcoholic cocktail. This Island is a non alcoholic island, so you can't buy alcohol anywhere (except for a boat at the hotel where you can go to at certain times to buy and drink alcohol). We got some information and were taken to our fantastic room. We walked to our and the from the reception and the view was truly amazing! Our suitcases were brought to us (so we didn't had to take them ourselves). The room was fantastic, a big room (beach side) with a large bed and a bathroom with toilet and rain shower. This holiday was much more beautiful then we thought it would be! We've got a bottle of water 2 times a day (in the morning and evening). The beach is realy that white and the sea is realy that blue and nice and warm. There were more then enough sunbeds to sit on and we got beachtowels and normal towels, so that was very nice also. We could see some fishes without our snorkling masks on. It's a realy peaceful hotel with very friendly staff. We had half board; breakfast and dinner ( you can also choose for logies or full board). That was also very tasty food. each day of the week different food for dinner. The eggs and pancakes in the morning are freshly made and very tasty. And the staff at the hotelrestaurant (which is an open restaurant) was very friendly. We didn't do the paid boat tours, only the free snorkling tour and that was also amazing. At the hotel property were beautiful animals to see (like all kinds of lizards, crabs and little lobsters). We also got to the village by bike (which was free to borrow from the hotel) and it was very nearby. The village people are also very nice people. The one thing that's awfull were the mosquitos.....we had deet with us, but that wouldn't work, it seemed the musquitos liked the deet. You can buy mosquitospray at the local stores (little bottles with pink caps), that will work for repelling mosquitos. The sight of this island and all that it has to offer is more beautiful then in the pictures and it's truly amazing. We were on our honeymoon, but there were people who were traveling alone and also friends and families who were at the hotel. So everybody who is thinking to go to this hotel; We truly recommend it to go to this island and hotel, it will be amazing!
