Mountain Side Hakuba

Spacious and well appointed apartment, convenient location across from a chairlift and evergreen international ski school

Our family of six rented an apartment here for a few days of skiing. It was an excellent place to stay. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with good-sized and well laid-out bedrooms, that had plenty of electrical sockets (at the right height) and good storage facilities. The hotel is just opposite the chairlift, so going skiing in the morning was a breeze. There is also a hotel shuttle bus that will take you to other places. The concierge system was impeccable, and used WhatsApp, which gave us easy communication with people who could book restaurants etc. for us and answer any queries. There's a good (but very busy) ski rental shop (Rhythm), which is a 6 minute walk away. And even better, when you leave the resort you can scan your equipment back into the shop from the hotel locker room and leave it all there. There's also a nice restaurant next to the hotel, and plenty of others within easy reach. Snow clearance in the car park, and help with bags and parking was highly efficient and most welcome. There is a good ski locker area on the ground floor with plenty of bench seating. It is warm and so allows ski things to dry quickly. However, while there is enough space for 6 pairs of ski boots in the locker, it is not deep enough for six pairs of skis. Other gripes include the keypad to our apartment (301), which took several attempts to get the door open each time we tried and the fact that there is no seating in the area where you need to take off your shoes in the apartment. Just a small bench would be handy. I didn't like the automatic lighting in the main corridor and the 'guest bathroom'. The guest bathroom is used by those staying in one of the bedrooms, and you need to cross the corridor to get to it. This is not a problem, apart from getting up to use the bathroom in the night, when you are automatically blinded by the lighting.

The property was a great stay, with fantastic staff. We went in the October time, which didn't have a ton of restaurants open, but the team helped us to find a few restaurants to visit, helped to organize onsen appointments, and was very nice. The apartment itself was large and very clean.

Six of us stayed in unit 502 for 7 nights and enjoyed every moment! The unit was right at the Happo one Lyft in walking distance to a pub, a restaurant, a ski shop, and an onsen. A collection of efficient and professional and friendly concierge. Staff helped us with our every need. We had a private driver with a van that seated. all of us comfortably take us to the lovely restaurants and activities. We had planned throughout the week. it was quiet at night, but easily accessible to get into town for any nightlife you want to enjoy. we would happily stay at mountainside again!

The Mountain Side Hakuba was a fantastic place to stay! The location was great (if you have car) with views of the ski slopes. The accommodation was modern and spotless. Most of all the customer service provided by their staff Miss Anca was second to none. She was extremely helpful and made our whole experience in Hakuba a memorable one. We would have been lost in making appropriate ski and meal arrangements if not for her. Will definitely stay there again when we come back the next time. Worth every penny.

The Mountainside is Impeccably well located for all seasons. Great to be back for our second time , and well looked after by the team led by Sakura-San A seamless service experience and wonderful accommodation and amenities . Will come back again !

We had an excellent time, the accommodation was top notch, with wonderful views, in a perfect location, ski in ski out for Happo-One. All the staff were really friendly and incredibly helpful, arranging everything for us. We will definitely be back.

The accomodation was superb located directly across from the ski lifts.but it was the staff that made our trip so enjoyable and hassle free. They were always friendly and willing to help .plus the daily shuttle service to wherever you needed was legendary

We were fortunate to have chosen Mountain Side Hakuba for our recent stay. The property is in a great location, literally across the street from the lifts. The overall check-in process was extremely efficient and the staff were incredibly helpful before and during our visit. We had a 3BR unit and it was clean, well stocked and simply a lovely property. The shuttle service, help with logistics and then the onsite restaurant were pleasant surprises and the Mountain Side team went out of their way to accommodate guest requests. Highly recommend this property and look forward to returning soon.
