The Hotel Melrose

Liked the decor and comfort of bed The bright number light on the split unit was annoying, as was the motion sensored bathroom light. I was fine with keyless entry —but what if my phone died? Then what?

One thing that should be noted is that this hotel is handled entirely, virtually. After we checked in online, we were sent a key app. The issue with this, was that it would not load unless you were using WiFi, which we did not have access to. Luckily, the bar was open and we were able to get the password. The app worked the first evening, but in the morning, it would not work at all. I later found out that the server that handles the app was down. I was able to text the issue and was given a code to use on a lock box so that I could get to a fob. All of this and other issues were handled by texting. There is no one at the hotel to talk with. We also went through 3 coffee makers until we got one that worked. I will say that the person I texted with was always very helpful. Anyway, I imagine this is the wave of the future for hotels. Not my thing, but the room was clean and bartenders were great!

We tried this hotel on a whim not knowing what to expect. We were impressed from the beginning. Cute,hip cocktail bar had the best two bartenders (Karina and Jack) that offered suggestions for dinner. They gave this place a charm and loads of warmth. If you are looking for a fun night with someone special or a girls weekend, this is your place. It doesn’t have a ton of amenities like a lobby or workout facilities but I have mentioned the bar?!!!? lol In all seriousness, I loved being able to walk downtown grand junction for dinner and shopping. I loved the historical feel of this boutique hotel, and appreciated the tasteful remodel that gave modern vibes.

i am used to staying at the traditional chain hotels, and decided to try something different for this trip. It was nice that I booked everything online, and that I received a link for the mobile credentials. The room (Single queen) was a little smaller than I was used to, but it was very clean and well appointed. I liked the mini-fridge with a separate freezer compar**ent, and the counter sink was a nice have. I really did not like not having a place to sit other than the bed, as this made it difficult to work. A couple of things that also made me decide not to re-book when I had to extend my trip was the noise from the bar, the lack of identified parking, and how strange it felt to not have anyone onsite when I checked in.

Amazing Hotel that is both historic and newly remodeled. They struck a balance between keeping it unique and it feeling brand new. Loved the people here, in the bar and the property manager. Really made us feel at home.

Charming boutique hotel right downtown Grand Junction, easy walk to Main Street to shopping, bars & restaurants. The hotel is accessed by your online phone app, no lobby, and it all worked out very smoothly. The only employees we saw, were the bartenders in their cute corner bar. All brand new, super clean, friendly.

Lovely new hotel, refurbished from a 100 year old hotel. Fun small bar in the lobby, rooms with old time feel and modern conveniences like WiFi and kitchenette, a quick walk to downtown Grand Junction stores and restaurants
