Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites

We verbleven een week met halfpension in het hotel in een comfortkamer met uitzicht op zee. We beoordeelden dit als positief: - de kamer en het hele hotel waren schoon en ingericht naar een hoge standaard - de comfort tweepersoonskamer met uitzicht op zee had een prachtige, onlangs gerenoveerde badkamer met een geweldige douche. - Zeer comfortabele ligstoelen bij het zwembad (maar niet genoeg) - Personeel bij de receptie / kamer / zwembad is erg vriendelijk, behulpzaam en ongecompliceerd. - mooi zwembad en klein privégedeelte aan het strand (maar ligstoelen tegen betaling) - elke dag schone handdoeken voor het zwembad - zeer goede schoonmaak van de kamer - het toilet bij de receptie was ook altijd schoon en hygiënisch - aangezien we niet weg gingen tot de avond kregen we een kamer om te... douchen. Het volgende beviel ons niet: - Strandstoelen op het strand zijn te duur! (50 euro 1e rij, 30 euro vanaf de 2e rij) Voor de prijs per nacht is dat zeker te veel! - Gratis ligbedden bij het zwembad maar een echte strijd om gratis ligbedden, want die zijn er niet genoeg! - Sommige ligbedden waren door het hotel urenlang gereserveerd voor "belangrijke gasten" en kwamen maar kort (60 minuten) opdagen... Andere gasten werden gedurende de dag weer weggestuurd. - Restaurantpersoneel was onbeleefd, gestrest en zeer ongecoördineerd. Bestellingen waren "verloren". Lange wachttijden en geen vaste toewijzing van bedienend personeel aan een herkenbaar tafeltje - 's Avonds kregen we steeds een andere tafel. We hadden twee keer geluk en mochten eten op het prachtige terras. Maar meestal moeten de halfpensiongasten binnen in de hal eten. Het terras wordt vrijgehouden voor externe gasten. Wij die halfpension hebben betaald, moeten binnen zijn. Geen echt zomergevoel, dus het verschil tussen de topplek buiten met uitzicht op zee en de rumoerige en onaantrekkelijke tafel binnen is enorm. We gingen vaak uit eten, ook al betaalden we voor het dure halfpension. - Het eten werd in vier gangen geserveerd, was goed, mooi gepresenteerd maar vrij weinig en vaak lauw of zelfs koud! - Er zijn twee tot drie menukeuzes (vis en vlees) maar geen vegetarische optie. - Lange wachtrijen bij het ontbijt: Door Corona moest een medewerker het bord in elkaar zetten bij het buffet. De medewerkers waren erg geïrriteerd, gestrest en lieten het ons voelen. - De kamer was klein maar prima. Het balkon was echter teleurstellend, begrensd door een stenen muur en heet omdat de airconditioningventilator hete lucht direct op het balkon blaast. Om het geboekte zeezicht te zien moest je op het balkon staan aangezien wij op de 1e verdieping zaten. Al met al was het een goed verblijf. Maar voor de prijs hebben we zeker veel betere aanbiedingen gehad in andere hotels (****)! De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is niet goed voor ons om de bovengenoemde redenen.

Love the private beach. The view from our balcony overlooking the ocean as well as the sunsets was amazing. Thank you Gabbiano Azurro for upgrading our room to a Junior Suite! The staff in the hotel was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast selections were excellent. Lunch by the beach was very good and dinner at Blu was delicious. This hotel is superb!!!

Everything about this stay was incredible. Panoramic sea views from our room, a dreamy beach with the fluffiest white sand and turquoise, calm shallow water. The hotel team gave outstanding customer care from start to finish. The food in the restaurant was delicious and if you really want to treat yourself, dine with the gazebo on the beach - just breathtaking. The pool was lovely. The location of the hotel was fantastic as the golfo aranci has a lot to offer in terms of boat trips and dolphin watching. The breakfast buffet had a generous selection. I will definitely return to this hotel. The staff go above and beyond and are so professional.

Gabbiano Azzurro is a world class hotel and staying here truly felt like a dream. Upon arrival, we received the warmest welcome from the sweet, kind staff at reception. The hotel itself and the lounge is charming, bright and the perfect balance between elegant and rustic. We swooned at how stunning our room was; we had dual aspect 180° panoramic windows which made the room feel like you are sleeping and floating by the sea. Dazzling sunlight poured in and the view from our room number 106 was simply breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp cotton sheets. The bathroom was gorgeous too. Each day, the friendly housekeepers would return at multiple points to bring extra fluffy towels. Our room was ready early at 11 which was appreciated after a very early flight that morning. My favourite thing about the room was waking up and watching the sunrise from bed. The location of the hotel is fabulous on the Golfo Aranci, a coast which offers spectacular natural scenery along the cape. We loved exploring this area on a boat trip and enjoyed seeing a pod of dolphins very closeby. Golfo Aranci train station is walkable o- 20 mins. One of the beaches - Cala Moresca - used in a recent big movie - is a 1h hike from the hotel. Now to our favourite - the hotel beach! This beach was truly one of the most alluring beaches we found in Northern Sardinia - think calm, clear, turquoise shallow waters and white, fine, fluffy sand. The hotel buffet breakfast was excellent and had a wide selection of juice, fruit, cereals and muesli, hot breakfast goods, cheese, bread, cakes and so on. The breakfast waiters would bring you barista style coffees too. We enjoyed our experience at the Blu restaurant and we adored dinner at a gazebo on the beach. Having the beach to ourselves for dining during a radiant sunset, listening to the soothing tide was one of the most romantic moments of my life. It felt like a movie moment. Thank you to Antonella for arranging this. I’m a seasoned traveller and I’ve explored a lot of Italy - I found the pricing of this hotel to be competitive with other 4 star hotels of this calibre. There is something special about this hotel and I believe it is the team who go the extra mile to make it such a wonderful experience. It is rare to find such attentiveness, professionalism and sincere passion and pride. The team seemed to be very happy and well cared for and in turn the guests sense the warm atmosphere and culture. Nothing was too much trouble, the team helped us with requests for extra duvets and helped us arrange activities and taxis. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and at some point in the foreseeable future I yearn to return. I’m blown away by this experience. I’ve stayed at other amazing hotels, but this hotel has something unique. I miss this hotel, the team and the beach tremendously. Until next time. Ti amo, Gabbiano Azzurro!

Beautiful hotel with stunning location on the superb, shallow, sandy beach at GA with its private section, lovely outdoor pool and even a private jetty. Given a free upgrade to a sea view room as the hotel wasn't too busy. Great! Residents from all over the world, but particularly Germany the week we were there. Huge selection at breakfast - even sparkling wine. Room was spacious and well-designed with a good balcony. Good pillows - which is rare, even in good hotels. Very good air-con, which was much-needed. Very friendly and helpful staff (reception and cleaners especially). One quibble would be that the coffee at breakfast isn't great - if you want a milky coffee, it's always too weak, but that's a common issue all across Italy, I think. Because it is in the centre of GA, it is very close to the amenities, Railway station about a 20 minute walk. The Blu Restaurant was pretty good but the service slightly brusque at times. Bar also good.

Close to restaurants, gorgeous beach and clean. Very helpful staff at front desk. Would stay again if we are ever back!

The hotel is a beautiful place, it has great infrastructure and the staff are willing to go the extra mile. We needed a doctor during our stay and we could rely completely on the hotel organising this for us. We’re extremely thankful for this!

Very friendly staff as well as the owner! Beautiful room and property. Unfortunate to have to pay extra for chairs and umbrella for the cost paid for the room.
