Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside Resort, an IHG Hotel

Stayed a long weekend in a 2 bedroom condo made for 5. Room was very clean and had most everything you need. One thing lacking was no containers for leftovers so bring those. All kitchen items are glass or ceramic so if want to eat on the beach, bring plastic or silicone ware. Appliances available are coffee pot, microwave, toaster, and blender. Den is a little small for 5 people but we had only 2 so was very comfortable. There is a small balcony with a table and chairs and could see the water if looking from one corner of the balcony but not from sitting at a the table. It is located across the street from the beach so you have to walk across but pretty easy to do. If working out is important to you, there is a workout room in the sister facility across the street which is their premier version. You can’t use anything at the sister facility except the workout room. There are grills located outside between the buildings with a picnic table. Outside activities include mini golf, shuffleboard , horseshoes, ping pong, tennis court and basketball court. Games and movies available to be checked out. Washer and dryer available in a front building at no cost. All in all a nice relaxing weekend. To sum up, I’d say the condo is clean, adequate and basic. Not luxury but comfortable for a trip.

Stayed here using a marketing package from IHG. Was provided a room in building 12 but immediately had to ask for a room change. There was MOLD inside the all of the bath rooms and the whole unit had a damp and musty smell. The door way by the entrance was dingy and the unit had not been properly cleaned. Dust everywhere and the door to the balcony would not fully open (the flooring must not be level). When I told the front desk attendant they did not seem to enthusiastic to help. So I told them I would like another room. I provided with another room again in building 12 however all the same issues persisted especially the mold inside of the bath room. We asked for another room..... 3rd time is the charm. I was provided with a room in building 11. This room was much better. However overall the quality of cleaning at this property is sub par. Also in this room I had to ask them to change out the shower head in the master bed room because it was busted.

This is probably the nicest place we have stayed on the island and we have stayed at the San Luis Resort. We got the signature villa on the side that is right on the beach. The room was beautiful! It had an amazing balcony with a table and 4 chairs. The furniture was pretty inside and there were 2 bedrooms with king beds. The secondary bedroom was hot… which would have been an issue if we were actually going to use it. But it was on the opposite side of the unit so we had our 2 year old sleep in the room with us. There is an infinity pool that was really nice with great views and beach access. There is a little cafe as well which was a nice perk. We ordered some food and drinks and ate by the pool. It was a bit expensive, our two night stay was around $740, but it was very nice and we felt it was worth the price. It was really far on San Luis pass. You have to drive past another Holiday inn club vacations to get to it. But that was kind of an attraction to us because it was more remote and quiet than the hustle and bustle of Seawall by the San Luis.

If you cannot say anything good, don't say anything at all! Bad bathroom mold, no window in bedroom, no breakfast, no making beds, no exchanging towels & no clean up while being a guest. Lose showerhead pipe, barely any waterpressure (drip drip). East tower elevator out of order during our stay. Our room was on 4th floor!!!

We never had an opportunity to enjoy the facility, although we did back in 2020. Enjoyed the resort then and thought we could enjoy it again while visiting family in Lake Jackson. Needless to say, that opportunity did not happen because the resort was closed because of hurricane Beryl. The sad part is the resort did not contact us by phone or e-mail, RCI who we booked through did not contact us. They are quick to contact us by phone and e-mail about renewing our membership. Extremely disappointed in RCI making no effort to contact us about the closure of the resort. I cannot even tell if we received credit for our trading points were credited. This is not an example of a world class operation if they cannot pick up the phone and call us that the resort is closed. Therefore, I cannot write about the facility and rooms because we never got past the front gate. We can definitely understand why it was closed, but cannot understand why we were not contacted and phone mail messages left that the resort was closed. Sad, Sad state of affairs.

Arrived to check in to find that the reservation desk booked the wrong dates for my stay. The front desk supervisor (Leila Taylor) went on to say how she didn’t know if they could honor a new reservation for the night, rather than assuring me and my family that together we could find a solution. After an hour on the phone with Chase travel services and IHG, I was charged ($332.35) for the same reservation which was $147.91 more than I was charged back in April 2024 when the reservation was made. Almost a month later, IHG has yet to agree to cover the surplus charge from the original reservation that was made as a result of the error made by their reservation department. The reservation was made through Chase travel and both Chase travel and I had my check in as June 8 and check out as June 9. Only IHG had the reservation as June 7 arrival and June 8 check out. They simply could have honored the payment and original reservation and set my family and I into a room. But instead they took advantage of our hardship and chose to gouge a customer instead. Their poor customer service continues as they refuse to rectify their mistake. The room had countless issues including a light out in the microwave, a crack on both sides of the hotel room door, a large stain on the floor in one of the bedrooms, and bathroom tiles cracked in the shower.

Described property was not entirely accurate. Much farther from beach access than advertised. Pets WERE allowed and lots of barking dogs.

This was a total scam. The resort, as advertised, is not what you’ll find when you get here…most of the online pictures are of the premiere seaside building that is only for select guests. We were assigned to a building on the other side of the road with no access to the facilities in the other building. At check in (we arrived at 5:00, long after the check-in time of 4:00) we were told our room wasn’t ready, and we were advised that it would be another hour or two before it was. We got a call around 7 that it was finally ready, by which point, we had gone out to dinner. On our return, it was late, and we expected to check in quickly. Instead, we were checked in, and sent to a separate area to “activate our keys.” It turned out that while our keys were activating, we were subjected to an agressive salesperson, attempting to sell us a timeshare on the property. We were able to slowly extricate ourselves from the situation without signing up for a “tour,” but we were called twice in the next 24 hours by salespeople, asking us to reconsider. Our room was mediocre for the price of $1400-plus for three nights, especially with no room servicing. Though it was recently renovated, it was nothing special, and clearly an inexpensive band-aid job.

Facility was in great shape but no outside bathrooms near the beach. Had to drive back to hotel. Could use areas to clean sand off before getting in the car and use restroom, maybe with keycard access.
