Candlewood Suites Galveston

Enjoyable weekend visit for our first trip to Galveston. Convenient to all places of interest. Comfortable beds and a very clean facility. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Prices very competitive. Ample safe parking. Great amenities available.

Moldy lampshade, toilet seat with several wood spots showing through, broken tile in bathroom, foggy windows that don't stay open, BUT lovely kitchenette and well appointed room convenient to everything. Walls pretty thing, at one point I wondered if our neighbors were IN our room. $75 for a dog is definitely on the high end, but the manager nicely lowered the price I paid because rates came way down after I booked and the hotel wasn't too busy. Didn't miss breakfast at all.

One desk clerk was very kind and friendly. Another, possibly middle eastern, could not speak English. Many of the doors do not close properly and the strike plates in the door jambs were missing. The floor in the stairwell in the end of the building was noticeably tilted; I suspect there is a foundation issue and some settling and cracking. This might contribute to the doors not closing properly. The bathroom light fixture in our room was about to fall apart; I did a little adjustment to make sure the glass wouldn't fall down. Also when opened the bathroom door collided with the countertop, as if the door was too big for the room. Several plumbing fixtures were connected backwards (cold water on left, hot on right). Also plumbing fixtures were loose, evident that a genuine plumber was not employed to do the work.

This place is a joke. The manager akabar does a disservice to this company brand. Not only did candlewood take my 293. We were kicked out of the hotel after returning from dinner. The agent said my card declined. I showed her my bank statement and called my back where she heard the transaction pending. They still said they couldn't see anything. The agent refused to give me access to get our things we offered to pay cash. Even though we already paid on my card . The rep threw the money at us because she was wrong . When my sister said she needed her medication she mumbled under her breath "btch I don't give a fuk about your medication " when my sister called her out she called her a liar. The manager came and was the opposite of helpful. He accused me of lying calling my bank and said I could have called anyone. I told him I called in front of the employee and she heard it. He refused to give me corporate information. He then went on to claim my niece wasn't a real employee of candlewood hotels. It was a horrific experience considering the fact they took my money.

Came down for Business and stayed an extra night. Very comfortable rm… very spacious would of been better with a King bed.. but nice

One of the highlights of my stay was the Candlewood Cupboard, a mini convenience store on-site. It was stocked with a variety of snacks, drinks, and essential items, perfect for satisfying any late-night cravings or forgotten necessities. The free laundry facilities were a huge convenience as well, allowing me to freshen up my clothes without any hassle. The location of Candlewood Suites Galveston was ideal. Situated in close proximity to popular attractions and the beach, it was easy to explore the area without spending too much time on transportation. Additionally, the hotel's serene ambiance provided a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. The commitment to cleanliness and safety during these times was evident throughout the property. Common areas were well-maintained, and sanitization measures were in place to ensure the well-being of guests. In conclusion, my stay at Candlewood Suites Galveston was exceptional. The comfortable suite, fully-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful amenities truly made it feel like a second home. Old dirty ran down & MOLDY! You literally can smell the mold upon arrival! Extremely disappointed taking advantage of cruisers! Due to limited options I think this hotel Does not take care of their facility. I am an platinum IHG member and have NEVER experienced such low standard when it comes to their hotel. I will NEVER stay here again. This place needs to be gutted

I’ve never felt better about writing a review. My travel partner and I had an extended stay at Candelwood Suites in Galveston and it surpassed out expectations. The facility was well kept, it was very clean, and the staff were excellent!!! There were plenty of small kitchen appliances we could used, which saved us $$$. The gym and laundry area were always clean and available 24hrs. I cannot say enough about the general manager Ali, he was AMAZING!!!! If ever there was a request or minor issue he took care of it in a very timely manner. Traveling as single female we felt VERY safe there. The staff is extremely honest as well, my CC was returned to me when I accidentally dropped it somewhere on the property. My stay there was beyond pleasant, I felt safe and there isn’t anything negative I can say. I hope the staff keep up the good work they are doing there. If ever I’m in Galveston again I will be staying there. It’s the BEST value on the island.

Great service and the staff was fabulous! Little hiccup with our toilet but they took care of it immediately. Price was reasonable especially with our stay being durning peak season.
