C-Hotels Joy

This is a hotel probably bought out by C-Hotels. It definitely did not feel like a 4-star hotel, more like a 2 or 3 star hotel. Strengths: - The hotel location was perfect. It was right by Firenze SMN train station and was only a 1-2 minute walk away. - Great breakfast buffet and friendly restaurant staff. Helped make coffees proactively every money. Super attentive. - Two elevators in the hotel. Weaknesses: - The hotel WiFi did not work on our first day but they got it fixed shortly. - They seemed to be short on towels and pillows. We had to keep asking for more towels because they only gave us 1-2 towels per bathroom. We also needed the sofa bed and requested for 2 more pillows because the pillows are thin but we couldn’t get any extra pillows until our last night. - One of the two TVs did not work/did not turn on. - Hair dryer in the bathroom did not work. There was also no bathroom fan so the bathroom always smelled funky. We had a “junior suite” (the best room that they had apparently so we got no room upgrade) which was just two connecting rooms but one room had a sofa bed with a small bathroom while the other room had a queen bed with a slighter bigger bathroom. The smaller bathroom had a shower with a flimsy, stow-away shower doors. There was only one hybrid shampoo and shower gel provided for a 4-star hotel. - Lots of mosquitoes and flies were inside the room. - While the design of the room was modern, the room already looks tired and worn out. Towels smelled funny, bed sheets didn’t appear to be the cleanest, and room floors still seemed dirty. - Poor sound proofing as we could hear sounds coming from the outside on the ground floor. We were in floor 1 (second floor) and right outside the elevator. - Our luggages were just left outside in the open lobby where we had left them when we arrived at the hotel (before the 3 pm check-in) for storage. We left them around 1 or 2 pm and we came back in the evening. Thought they’d store the luggage somewhere more secure.

The hotel is only a 3-5 min walk from the train station and only about 15 min walk to the Duomo. Its modern, clean & simple. Staff are very friendly and pleasant. Im happy this is the hotel I booked while in Florence. Very convenient.

The hotel location is good, only 2-3min walk to train station. Unlike most Italy hotels, this hotel do not include breakfast. Service is below expectation as the hotel would not give you earlier check in even they have rooms available. Instead they will ask you to pay addition cost for available room which is bigger by 2 sq m as an ‘upgrade’ offer. Else you have to wait until 2pm the official check in time.

Flight got cancelled due to geopolitical unrest. Hotel was not compassionate enough to allow a refund or any refund. Oh well thankful Trip helped in a little refund.

Location is great with 3 minutes walk. Great amenities in the room as well.

Honest Review — Great Staff, But the Room Needs Attention. Unfortunately, our experience with the room was disappointing. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with a strong musty smell that was difficult to ignore. The room would really benefit from better ventilation, deep cleaning, and addressing whatever is causing the musty odor so guests can walk into a fresh-smelling room. The carpet/area rug also appeared old and worn out, which added to the overall feeling that the room needed some updating and better maintenance. There was no tissue box in the room, and the toilet paper provided was small and quite rough, which felt below what we expected from a hotel. The biggest concern was the shower drainage. The shower floods because the water takes a very long time to drain, leaving approximately an inch of dirty water on the floor. I would never feel comfortable walking barefoot in that water. Thankfully, I brought shower slippers with me. That said, I want to give credit where it is absolutely due: the staff were wonderful. Mateo, Omo, and Christian were all very approachable, cheerful, and reassuring. Their kindness and willingness to help really made a difference and were the highlight of our stay. I hope management takes these comments seriously because the hotel has a great opportunity to improve the guest experience\. **Improving the smell and cleanliness of the rooms, replacing worn flooring/rugs, fixing the shower drainage, and providing basic amenities like a tissue box would make a significant difference.

Bathroom stunk, dont take room 314z Reception folks are fools, they dont fice a damn. Dont stay here
