Premier Inn Fareham

We have stayed at this Premier Inn before only a few weeks earlier as we have family in the area and were back visiting. This time was a little disappointing. Upon arrival we were given our room, which was very clean but it was very hot. Also the toilet paper was almost out and had not been replaced and a lamp on the wall near the bed was so loose it was hanging upside down. It felt like little care had bed. Taken to ensure the room was perfect for someone’s stay. They were not luxuries they were basic functions that anyone would want from a stay. So just felt a bit disappointed that I had to go to reception and ask for these things to be sorted. In fairness though when we asked for the toilet paper to be restocked and the lamp to be fixed they both were actioned promptly.

Have stayed at this pemier inn before but we must have been put on the ground floor. I checked in and the staff member was young and had no social skills. Mum mum was given a first floor room, she is obviously quite immobile. When I went to take her to her room I asked where the lift was and was tild there wasnt one. I managed to get her to her room but knew it was going to be a pain for both of us. I went down to reception to ask if she could switch. The woman seemed put out to look. Said it could take a while. It took her approx 2 mins to switch the room. The room mum was placed invwas cold and damp. Not great. Our family room was too warm although not a hot day. Neither seemed to be resolvable through the heating system. We had a fan on all night. I dont know what is going on with the pillows at Premier inn these days. They are so uncomfortable. Really big and fat. Will bring my own if I stay in a PI again I managed

Had to sleep with the windows open as the damps smell kept me up. No offer of a refund for the poor sleep or smell. Mould was obvious visually around the bathroom ceiling.

Our room smelt, upon short investigation we found and took pictures of black mould across the ceiling, and a damp new patch forming right above the wardrobe. We complained to the receptionist who put us into an adjoining room, unfortunately this room also smelt like mould. Ended up just leaving the next morning instead of staying another night, no apologies or explanation from the staff as to why the rooms had black mould. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Stated on the company website as a "restaurant " when, in fact, it only does breakfast unless you fancy a TGI FRIDAY burger? Then going in the room to find 2 T bags, no coffee and no chocolate as per other Premier inn's I've visited, oh nothing to stir pre issued condiments. Seems like someone stole the restaurant, coffee and spoons?

Only stayed overnight at Fareham as we were at an event at Stubbington that evening. The young girl who checked us in was friendly and i have no complaints. The staff in the kitchen area in the morning were attentive and friendly. There was a lady serving at the hot counter and I had a lovely chat with her. Very impressed with my stay and the staff there.

We use Premier Inns quite a lot and have usually been happy with the decor and cleanliness . However, when booking it is not apparent how any particular hotel stacks up against what is usually a good standard. The Fareham hotel was well below standard.

My room was at least slightly tired and had seen better days. The bathroom had the recent oftentimes for me at Premier inns problem of variable / spurting water pressure. There is a TGI Fridays next door that is expensive and did not seem to have recent good reviews. I think I noticed that the Premier Inn restaurant now only served breakfast.

The issues of there being no phone in the Premier Inn rooms, but a cost of approximately 35pm to phone a hotel from your mobile, is that you cannot make a complaint at the time. I’m in a downstairs room, it’s 7.30am on a Saturday morning and the person above my room has been clumping about since at least 6.30am. Lenny Henry doesn’t mention this in the ad does he?
