Mill on the Exe

Only stayed for a one night stop over but everything was excellent. The staff were very helpful and the room had a great view over the river. Dinner in the restaurant and breakfast were great too. The hotel has recently had a very impressive makeover to a very high standard. Cannot fault and would happily recommend it.

Fabulous 3 night stay at The Mil, extremely comfortable bed, plenty of space, hot shower and some super meals in the restaurant. Breakfast choices brilliant. Entire hotel very tastefully decorated. Setting and proximity to everywhere excellent.

Gorgeous setting right by the River Exe. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Delicious breakfasts and drinks. Very comfortable bed. Our first room smelt of paint and the bath didn't drain well so we were moved to another room straight away which was bigger, better, quieter and at the back of the Old Mill. Loved the decor, fireplaces, photographs and pictures, very in keeping with the Old Mill. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

The river location is superb and within easy walking distance of Exeter and the quay. Our room was recently refurbished to a very high standard and was superb. It's a lovely pub/hotel with friendly staff and fabulous views of the river and weir. The breakfasts were freshly cooked but took a very long time to arrive. Hopefully this will be addressed by the management team.

From our arrival to our departure, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. This was despite arriving on a Sunday afternoon and struggling to find a place to park. Had not realised there's a separate car park for Residents. Duly moved the car into this dedicated area, where there was much more space. Very impressed with our Room. Facing the River. Very comfortable and super warm. Excellent choice of teas and the coffee machine was easy to use. The bottles of water were a welcome surprise and they were replaced throughput our 3 night stay. Some nice touches too, like the attention to detail with the "bath mat" being rolled up neatly and placed in the shower tray. Toiletries were lovely also and the shower was easy to use, with plenty of instant hot water. We booked a table for our Evening Meals. Service and food was excellent. Nice a**osphere in the Restaurant. Plenty of choices on the menu. Staff throughout our stay were friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good. Again, there was something to satisfy everyone and staff were very cheerful in the morning. Location was excellent too. We walked along the river, into the City, which made a very pleasant walk. Lots of street signage, so no chance of getting lost. Another morning, we toom the more direct way into the City. This took under 15 minutes at a slow pace. We arrived feeling quite stressed and left feeling chilled and relaxed. Speaks volumes. We shall definitely return and we have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to others.

We’ve stayed here 3-4 times a year for the last 3 years while our daughter is at university , always try to book early as they are busy and do get full. Everyone is always very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and have everything you will need, with comfy beds and modern bathrooms The setting is perfect as you overlook the river. Parking is onsite and private. The city centre is about 1/2 mile walk away I couldn’t really recommend the place highly enough and honestly would not stay anywhere else given the choice.

Such a Beautiful hotel,great location,lovely restaurant very good food and staff friendly and helpful. We took our Dog and he was treated like a VIP. The rooms good size and comfy beds Couldn't recommend highly enough.

A very enjoyable experience. The hotel is well maintained & both the bedrooms & dining area are clean and tidy.The staff were very efficient & even when my wife asked to refine her dish the kitchen was most accommodating. Location spot on, we will return.

We had a lovely stay in one of the double rooms overlooking the river. Staff were all very friendly, we also had breakfast which was brilliant. Service was excellent throughout our stay and I am looking forward to when we can return to Exeter where we will stay in Mill on the Exe without doubt. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for comfort and great service.
