Staff were excellent at check in , reception area was clean and tidy. Rooms were clean and tidy, close to shops and restaurants. Buses run frequently into Edinburgh and the trams are close by.

No air-conditioning and not enough staff to cover the reception, but Beware the Parking!!, you will get a parking ticket from a 3rd party for parking at the hotel even though you enter the registration number in reception and premier Inn will not contact the parking company for you to help!

Overall the experience was ok, alot of noise from the room above which frightened my 3 year old daughter. Issues on check in with refusing my ID which is seemingly not legal ID which was my provisional driving licence. Last time I checked this was a legal requirement to have before starting driving lessons which tells me it is legal ID. Didn't want cash when I went to pay and only part cash / part card, thankfully, I paid all cash but it needs to be clear on booking. Food wasn't the best from Brewer's Fayre with the service not the best. Basic food which was ok, went elsewhere other evenings. Overall ok, great location and we will think about staying in the future.... mabye.

The location is good, however, the hotel is showing it's age. The room size is good but that's where the amenities end. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Our first trip in we were told to just find a table but were not told that we had to order first at the counter. Breakfast is buffet only. All in all, neither the hotel nor the restaurant aren't worth the price we paid for them.

Typical Premier Inn. Clean, helpful staff. Good selection at breakfast at Brewers Fayre next door. Near tram to city centre which ran after the late show at the Tattoo. Only downside room faced a brick wall so felt claustrophobic.

Carpets have seen better days. Dirty and grimey. Doesn’t look like they have been washed or cleaned for years. Can hear floors above creaking all night when guests walking. The whole ceiling light would shake. Every day would get interrupted around 5/6am and then at 8am. No sound proof rooms can hear everything. Car park was always full.

Our room took away from the enjoyment of potentially good stay. Little to no sleep for two nights due to the room heat not dropping below 26.5 degrees. We were given two fans but they literally blew hot air around the room.

This hotel meets a general traveler's needs and expectations at a reasonable price. However, the adjacent restaurant, run by an affiliate, is mediocre.

The room was dirty and only one bed made up. The young man at reception was rude and unprofessional. We were told to go away and come back in 20 mins and a room would be ready. We came back an hour later and still no room ready. This was 6.45pm. Overpriced for the poor quality run down hotel and staff with bad attitude. If it wasn’t so late and I had an appoin**ent then I would have left. Horribly expensive over £140 per night. Meant to be a cheaper hotel but obviously wasn’t. Very bad experience.
