Lovely hotel in the city centre. Within walking distance to all the main sights. Warm reception staff. Love the spacious pool and well-equipped gym. Will stay again!

This is not a 5 star hotel! I have to be honest, I have stayed in many 5 star hotels across Asia and to come to Scotland I had hoped for better. I booked this hotel for two nights with my daughter who is in her 20’s.
Check in was swift and the twin room we were allocated was basic and not very big. Our room overlooked the Usher Hall and Castle.
Breakfast the first morning was very disappointing. There is no buffet breakfast, only al a carte. You were to choose a starter eg. Porridge, overnight oats and then a main: full cooked breakfast, pancakes with bacon. However, all the food came together, which meant that if we’d eaten the yogurt first, the main courses would have been cold. I complained to two different servers and neither of them offered so much as an apology.
To use the One Spa, you have to have booked a spa room or pay extra…definitely not worth it. This should be included for all rooms.
Don’t book this hotel, there are many better hotels in Edinburgh for the same if not less money.

Lovely hotel in a great location for usher hall . Staff were friendly and helpful , rooms were spacious and had everything you needed . Added bonus spa treatment was excellent.

The overall experience was fine. Food and restaurant staff were nice.
The spa was closed because of the fire. Very sad.
WiFi and air conditioner in my room were broken on the first and second day of the stay. Probably caused by the leaking. A heater wasn’t provided till communicating 6 times with the receptionists. Quite disappointed. Feel that receptionists were not professional enough to handle situations I experienced.
With the spa being closed, wifi and the air conditioner being broken, this hotel feels more like a 3 or 4 star hotel, instead of 5. Recommend people to come to stay after everything being fixed.
