Hotel Ola - Adults Only

Bij het boeken van deze vakantie bij Vogage Prive hadden we om eenpersoonsbedden gevraagd omdat we met een vriend reisden. Dit was naar verluidt niet aan het hotel doorgegeven en het duurde meer dan 90 minuten om twee bedden van elkaar te scheiden en op te maken. De receptie leek in nood bij het bijwerken. Bij binnenkomst in de kamer. Gordijnen hingen buiten de baan. Hoewel het interieur een gewone kastdeur had, waren andere van Stirlingboard zonder handgrepen, dus als je de deur opende en sloot, kreeg je splinters in je handgrepen. Het balkon had dit ook tussen elk balkon. Stoelen op het balkon ontbraken. Hoewel het balkon groot was, waren de stoelen klein. De bovenverdieping had allemaal niet-passende plastic ligstoelen. Op een dag zaten er 4 bekledingen op de stoelen die smerig waren. Eten was lauw. De sportschool bevatte twee apparaten. Er werd geen melding gemaakt van de 64 treden naar de weg. Nog een heuvel en nog meer trappen naar de zee.

Het pand lag op een gunstige locatie, goede parkeergelegenheid en spa. De indeling van de kamer was verschrikkelijk, met een open ruimte van bed tot badkamer. Moeilijk om partner niet te storen en het gebrek aan privacy was ook niet groot. Aan de andere kant was het uitzicht geweldig!

Room was nice, clean and very spacious. Did not like the sliding door which was shared between the shower/toilet. Very open, meaning everything was heard. Food in the restaurant was very disappointing, not a large variety or quantity. No ice cream so dry deserts. One choice of cheese, very slow to replenish empty trays/plates. When I complained about the food I was told we were out of season - my money was good enough so I expect the food to be good enough and it wasn’t! Rooftop swimming pool was depressing, shelves behind bar were empty, no complete cushions on beds and some were ripped. No atmosphere. On a rainy day we spent the day in the indoor swimming pool area, this was very pleasant. Reception area was very unwelcoming. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel with views over the sea - 1hr by ferry to split from Trogir & 5 mins in Uber to Trogir - tip airport to hotel approx 18 euros by Uber & Uber to Trogir only 5-6 euros - cheaper than bus for 2 people - lovely restaurants along promenade on beach to left of hotel

Positives: The rooms are modern and clean. We got a room on the 3rd floor where the balconies are very small. We could see from the outside that all lower floors have bigger balconies and windows. All rooms at the hotel face the sea which is very nice. The pool on the roof top is nice, clean and refreshing. The restaurant at the hotel is good (although I got a histamine reaction to the tuna) but a little pricey and the menu gets a little boring after a couple of days. As it is so hot out and there are no restaurants nearby we did end up eating here a number of times during the 5 days we were there. Friendly staff. Negatives: very random subbed set-up by the pool with make shift pillows on a few beds. Feedback to the hotel: invest in better, nicer, softer sunbeds - it does a lot for the overall impression of the hotel. Also, the same music is played every where, everyday, all day. Awful (!) covers of otherwise great songs. It was starting to drive me mad by day 3. Please just subscribe to Spotify and put on a decent, original playlist! Lastly, the location is not great. While relatively close to the water taxi that will take you to Trogir (4 euro one way, 7 euros t/r) there is really nothing else within walking distance. No little shop for snacks, water or drinks, no restaurants, nothing. There is a building site in front of the hotel and I suspect the view from the restaurant and many rooms will be limited by the 2024 season. Taxi to the airport was 26 euro and takes less than 20 minutes. Overall, we had a great time and no major complaints but I would not stay at this hotel again. Better to get something actually on the waterfront or walking distance from Trogir centre.

Although, on the face of it, Hotel Ola looks like a really nice hotel in a good location, it is only when something goes wrong that you really find out the truth. We had a major problem when we visited the hotel in November last year and our complaint was dismissed out of hand and several untruths were made when we returned back to the UK.

Hotel is very good. Only thing that counts Down in evaluation is the surrounding building activities outside the hotel area. Sauna was also out of order for the one night stay.

Hotel in general, incl. room and restaurant/breakfast is very good! The only downside to the experience is the lack of service from front desk. When asking about directions, recommendations or help to rent bikes no help is given or the help given is incorrect. The staff at the breakfast and restaurant how ever deliver above and beyond - especially Ni Made - she was a real highlight of our stay!
