Grand old hotel. Room and bathroom were small Gorgeous view of pool, spa, basin but only if you stood in front of the one window. Window opened for a nice breeze but had to use the garbage can to prop it open. Dismayed that I could not have a mini fridge, would have paid extra to keep my drinks, cheese, water etc cool. Apparently the electrical system won’t accommodate a fridge. Plumbing in BR spotty. Toilet ran at times. Taps antiquated and difficult to control temp. Only ate breakfasts X 2. Had the exact same meal both mornings. Bill was $32 first day and $24 second day. Their coffee is so weak I honestly couldn’t tell if I was drinking coffee or tea. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable, the grounds and public areas impressive and the staff were very pleasant. Special shout out to Jake who humped my luggage up and down multiple steps while appearing to enjoy every minute! He is quite an ambassador and I hope management agrees.
All in all, I would go back as it’s a beautiful spot with great views and 4 minutes from the ferry terminal. Some updating of the rooms would take it up a notch.
Caution to mobility impaired guests. There are all sorts of stairs. Quite a climb just to get into the resort to check in. I was on the third floor but had two more small flights of stairs to carry my bags down to get to my room. The staff will happily assist you with your luggage but if mobility is an issue, this might not be the place for you.
