Best homestay in Sri Lanka!!!! Wonderful food. Organised all our excursions at a good price. Comfortable modern and well maintained. Kind and welcoming family who made us feel at home in their beautiful house.

This was our second stay at Princess of Dickoya. We had always wanted to go back after our stay 6 years ago, and we are so glad that we did. Saman and his family are so welcoming. The breakfasts are second to none and the homemade curries are delicious. Saman arranged all of our transfers and day trips and we went to some beautiful places off the beaten track...swimming in waterfalls and hiking in amazing hillsides. If you visit Sri Lanka , I can't recommend The Princess of Dickoya enough. Breathtaking views, but close to shops and a short hop to Hatton. We can't wait to return.

Forget your 5 star hotel! This family-run guesthouse in a peaceful location, will accommodate all your needs and you’ll leave with an unforgettable experience of getting to know a local family. Meals were healthy, fresh and authentic. Tremendous value for money. Rooms and bedding spotless and comfortable. Beautiful view from separate balconies. Guests can be collected from Hatton station. English speaking hosts couldn’t do enough for us. Would love to revisit.

Samman and his wife run this place wonderfully. Real thought ha been put into making every guest comfortable. Both are great communicators and are happy to help with tours, apraxia’s menu requests and local knowledge.
Our room wins best location of our five weeks in Sri Lanka as it gives a front row seat of the sunrise between two hills, clouds drifting in the shallows of the valley and the sounds of frogs and birds serenaded by the Buddhist monks in Dickoya town.
You will be treated to a feast with the Sri Lankan curry and filled up with the delicious and generous breakfast.

This is a magical place - our four days with Saman and his family at the Princess of Dickoya were the highlight of a perfect Sri Lanka holiday. It's very much a homestay experience - we were welcomed in and felt immediately part of the family. Fabulous home-cooked Sri Lankan food; wonderfully-generous hospitality; and a host of good ideas for places to visit and things to do. Nothing was too much trouble - we could not have asked for a better introduction to life in the Hill Country. Just brilliant!

Excellent stay, nice people, lovely waterfalls tour. Oh and thx for the Arak Very much recommended.I'd be hard pushed to find a flaw, maybe the hot water being a little bit hotter: details. And another sign of professionalism: sending a msg a day in advance to ask when we arrive and offer a free pick up: thx for that too.

Stayed just a night at Princess of Dickoya. Did not have much time in the room as i was doing meetings . I have to say that , i have not slept so well for a long time. The bed was so comfy and of course the balmy weather . Saman and the family looked after us so well. Even ironed my shirt . Dinner and breakfast was excellent . Great variety.Saman and the family are a close knit family so kind and friendly . Room was spotless clean ,view from the balcony was stunning . My study and preparation was inspired by Gods wonderful creation Would recommend this place if you travel upcountry..Myself ? Will certainly go there again next time with family

This calm family-run guesthouse is situated on a hillside above the small town of Dickoya. The accommodation is simple but clean and well-presented. All rooms have either balconies or leafy terraces with nice views. The meals are copious and very good. The manager can arrange excursions in the local area, which is notable for its tea plantations and beautiful scenery, as well as transfers from Hatton train station. Good value and highly recommended.

Together with a couple of friends we decided to stay at the Princess of Dakoya. We had a wonderfull experience ! Very friendly hosts that go out of their way to make sure you get all you want and more. We reveived a very nice tour in the tea plantations, followed by a kayak ride on the lake. Certainly recommended !
