La Maison de Canelya

By far it was the worst hotel of the entire trip thus far. There were numerous problems & disappoin**ents including: 0) the bed was easily the smallest of the trip. we both feared falling out of bed any time we wanted to roll over. it also made sleeping uncomfortable. 1) they failed to provide breakfast the first morning, despite discussing it the day before. we requested omelettes which they agreed to serve (more on this below). they later apologized for the mistake. 2) the breakfast on the 2nd morning was terrible. they served burnt (black) cookies, very stale bread, rotten jam (it smelled awful), and hot water. no omelette at all, and they forgot to bring any tea bags until we were literally walking out the door. 3) the AC in the room rarely worked, and the room was always warm. 4) so much noise. every night their restaurant blasted loud music until midnight. we tend to go to bed early, so it kept us from sleeping well.l 5) we had dinner at the hotel the first night. when we asked if we could pay with our Visa card, they agreed but said we would pay when we checked out. when departing this morning, I attempted to pay with my card, and they absolutely refused to accept it, and demanded cash. when I gave them cash, needing change, they refused, and demanded that I pay exactly what was owed (which I did not have). I do not think its unreasonable to pay 20k cFa on a 14.6k cFa bill, and expect the hotel to give me 5.4k cFa back. 6) there was no hot water at 6:30am the first morning. I had to go downstairs and fumble through my (very bad) French with the only staff member until he turned on the hot water for a shower. I later learned that they turn on the hot water at 7am every day. they should have clearly communicated this when we arrived. 7) the bathroom door was a sliding door with a broken track, which was very loud as it was dragged open/closed. during the day, it was a minor nuisance. at night, it was so loud that it always woke whomever was sleeping. 8) the bathroom towels were super small. they were basically hand towels the size of a dinner napkin. admittedly, this was a very minor issue, but it all adds up. this place may have been good long ago, but its just awful now.

Super endroit qui allie la modernité a la tradition béninoise. Personnelle et propriétaire au petit soin . Restaurant jardin Canelya très bon restaurant et animation light 😍,petit dej en chambre ou sur terrasse excellent.Bien situé 😍
