When we arrived the staff had no idea about our booking, after a long day of travelling this was more than a little bit annoying. After about 30 minutes and proving we actually had a paid reservation for a beachfront bungalow there was no such accommodation available. One lady at reception seemed perplexed as to why we hadn't booked on Agoda. I'm sorry if you offer your hotel on multiple 3rd party sites you should have the capacity to monitor and service them all.
We got told that we would have to spend the night in a lesser room and we could move the next day. Having booked 9 months prior if we chose that room it would have been fine but we didn't. They didn't offer an explanation or any sort of remuneration for the error, not even a free beer at the bar. We did check the current rate for the rooms and we had paid substantially less than the going rate for the premier bungalow and all the other rooms but that's why you book early and take advantage of flash sales. We shouldn't have been disadvantaged for being organised.
Next morning I went to reception and they seemed to have no record of us 'needing to move rooms' so I had to go through the whole thing again. It was awkard for them and awkard for us, we are not difficult customers we just want what we paid for.
When we finally got our room it was excellent, as described and despite the rocky start we were happy. Due to the language barrier we are unsure where the problem occured.
