El hotel está un poco antiguo, pero tiene su estilo

Hotel is mooi gelegen in het mooiste park van Gijon. Het is schoon maar het is geen indrukwekkende parador. Kamer was verder prima. Bediening was vriendelijk maar kon hartelijker. Parkeren is wel een probleem als je laat aankomt: er zijn te weinig parkeerplaatsen en dan moet je aan de straat parkeren. Verder zijn er geen voorzieningen getroffen voor electrische auto’s. Vanuit het hotel is het maar 15 minuten lopen naar de boulevard via het mooie park. Aan de boulevard zijn genoeg tentjes om wat te drinken of te eten.

Nice walk through park to playa and old town. Room was comfortable and spacious. Didn't eat in restaurant but did have a snack and drink in cafeteria which was reasonably priced.

Good location only a few minutes walk from the sea. Recommend walking to the old town where there are good bars and restaurants

The hotel has no land and is bordered by a 30,000 seater stadium and 20+ story blocks of flats to the rear. This is not the idyllic retreat that the web site photos show. Anti-social youths gathered in the public park to the front which is literally under the bedroom windows shouting and yelling. The hotel staff were reluctant to deal with the problem, so after four hours at 10.00 pm, when we could not sleep I had to pressure them to call the police. The Paradores organisation and the local management need to take ownership of this problem and find a solution. We cancelled our second night's stay. The irony was months before when we booked, we asked for a "quiet room", only to given the worst room in the hotel!

Within easy distance from the port of Santander. Easy to find in Gijón and situated in a pleasant location by a beautiful park.

Small, clean & characterful Parador with very friendly and helpful staff on the edge of a nice park, and a short 10min walk to the bay. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast (the churros were first class) in the dining room overlooking the park. Finding it was a little tricky.

Relaxing stay at a peaceful parador. We stayed for 3x nights with breakfast and were impressed at the cleanliness of the rooms, friendliness of staff and the individualised nature of the hotel. It was around 20-25 mins walk (through a park and then along the promenade) to the city proper.

We enjoyed our stay, the Parador is in a nice position, near to the beach but it was disappointing that the lake is empty and our views were of fencing. The car park is busy though not secure, plenty of locals use it as a shortcut from the park to the town. Our room was good, the staff friendly and helpful although rather rushed at breakfast times, it seemed they could do with more help. As with the other paradores we have used, precise driving directions would have been useful if sent with the booking confirmation. Non Spanish drivers need a little bit more help as the road are unfamiliar.
