"Wat een schitterende locatie! Mooie, schone, ruime kamers. Restaurant is erg goed. In het park staan hutjes met hangmatten en er is een voetbalveldje voor de kids. Prachtig groot zwembad. Dichtbij het strand aan de ene kant en de rivier aan de andere kant. Veel dieren gezien. Je kunt er leuke activiteiten boeken. Aanrader!"

Hotel El Icaco Tortuguero

"The hotel is next to the beach and not to far from the town center. They take really good care of you, if you book online there is someone waiting at La Pavona (the place you get on the boat to Tortuguero). They tell you how to get the boat and tell you about the tours and can book the tours with them. If you arrive at het docks in Tortuguero the is another person waiting for you to take you to het hotel. The hotel itself has friendly staff and the rooms are clean and if you stay for more days they clean your rooms and fold the new towels really nice. The tours were amazing, we had a tour with over 20 years of experience and we saw so much!"

Pachira Lodge

"We zijn net terug van reizen over Costa Rica. Onze eerste verblijf was in de Pachira Lodge. We hadden een geweldige tijd. De accommodatie is op een prachtige plaats en werd goed onderhouden. Alle personeel was zo mooi en zeer handig. Er was veel lokale voedsel in het restaurant. terwijl we een fantastische gids hadden, Ray Salazar, die ons naar het National Park, naar Tortuguero en Turtle Hill, en hij overwoog ook onze overdracht. Hij was echt verbazingwekkend, deed zijn uitgebreide kennis van de natuur en een duidelijke passie voor de flora en fauna rondom ons. Hij was nooit 'afgewezen' altijd op de hoogte van interessante dingen en antwoordde op vragen. We kunnen het zeer aanbevelen!"

"We stayed at this location for two nights and had a great time; lots of beautiful colorful birds and wonderful silence, except for the sounds of the jungle and the howler monkeys in the distance, though occasionally taxi boats speeding past! The lodge has no windows but mosquito nets, so you are truly close to nature! Milene, the owner, picked us up in San José and guided us to Tortuguero, where we were welcomed upon arrival by Bismarck. We had a lovely stay! We did two excursions: one boat trip and a tour of the town of Tortuguero, both with the guide. The beds were very good, the shower fine, and the food simple but tasty! And truly Costa Rican."

Hotel Serendipity Tortuguero

"Tortuguero was our first stop in Costa Rica. The welcome from the staff at Hotel Serendipity was amazing. They met us off the public boat with a warm welcome and took our bags to the hotel. It’s more 6 apartments than a hotel but the rooms are amazing. Very modern, super clean. What sets this place apart in addition to the great rooms are the staff. They are absolutely lovely - especially the women who made our breakfast and dinner. Nothing was too much trouble and unlike some places the warmth and friendliness appeared genuine. This was our first stop in Costa Rica and it truly made us happy that we had picked this hotel. Don’t hesitate when booking, just book it you won’t be disappointed."

Tortuga Lodge

"Het hotel ligt prachtig aan de waterkant. Vanaf het moment dat je aankomt met de boot staat het personeel je al aan de kant op te wachten. Het hotel is klein. Het personeel is vriendelijk en persoonlijk. Onze kamer had een prachtig uitzicht op de rivier. Aan de voorkant zie je de rivier en aan de achterkant de jungle waar de brulapen letterlijk slingeren van de jungle naar de achtertuin van het hotel. Het eten van het restaurant is heerlijk en de presentatie van het eten prachtig. We hebben onze tours allemaal via het hotel geboekt. De gidsen werken voor het hotel. Ze waren punctueel en deden hun best om alles te laten zien. Ik heb zoveel gezien en als climax twee jaguars die aan de waterkant zaten te “chillen” op de terugweg van de “canaltour”naar het hotel. Dit was echter zeer bijzonder en komt zelden voor. Gelukkig had de gids goede ogen en hij ze meteen opgemerkt. Al met al een ongelofelijke ervaring!"

Casa Marbella

"It's diffucult to rate Casa Marbella because it depends on what you expect. If your looking for a place with spacious rooms, clean and with a friendly staff this is perfect. There can be some noise from the street. ( When we visited all the shops and bars closed at 9pm. So not that big of a problem) Or from neighbours. The breakfast is very limited. Choice between panckakes and scrambled eggs ( no ham, bacon,...) They have a beautiful deck to sit and have a drink. In the evening we got to see racoons in the trees. Since visiting tortuguero takes a max of 2 nights. I think Casa Marbella is defenitly a good option."
