This hotel is really nice, with an excellent location. It is one of the few hotels in Europe that provides disposable slippers and free ice cream for children. The room is large, the service is good, there is a free sauna, and the breakfast is very good.
Hotel was not far from Airport bus drop off. Check in was quick and easy. We were initially given a room that could only be accessed by using 2 flights of stairs (after taking elevator to 2nd floor). Went back to reception to ask for room with elevator access directly to the floor. Initially they were reluctant until I mentioned 1 in our party could not go up and down stairs repeatedly. They gave us a new room on the 3rd floor. Room is a decent size for 2 individuals; bathroom small but practical; beds comfy like other hotels were. Windows open and able to sleep at night as little to no noise. Breakfast buffet is your typical selections but on 1st morning I found food to be a bit on the cold side. Good location within easy walk of city center.
The hotel could not be in a better location for exploring Tromso and provides very good value. It was easy to travel to and from the airport (although we admittedly got a short taxi) and visit the sights (including getting a bus to the Arctic Cathedral). The room was small, but great value for what we had paid. We were mainly using it as a base in between trips and sightseeing, so it did the job nicely. We had twin beds, a desk and chair, an armchair and a long mirror. The bathroom was also very good - there was always hot water and the shower offered a good water pressure, making it easier to wash your hair after being caught in a snowstorm! The breakfast buffet offered a great selection of food, including my favourite - brown cheese. I would be happy to stay there again.
Very Good

The hotel just a few minutes walk to the city center. But very closed to Polaria bus station that I could walk easily with my suitcase. The staff was very helpful even there was a mistake about my check-in information but I did not have to wait too long for that. The room was clean and warm enough.
While Enter St Elizabeth Suites was away from downtown, it was a comfortable 10-15min walk with a supermarket just 5mins away. We chose the hotel for its location which is situated on a hill with nice view of the harbour and the self-service laundry which most of the other hotels in Tromso did not have. As it was recently refurbished, all corners of the hotel was clean and new. We stayed jn the One Bedroom suite with seaview for 3 nights. Bedroom was very small, with the queen bed taking up most of the walking space and there was just a wall shelf with coat rack. However, this didn’t bother us. The sofa in the living room doubles as a sofa bed which comfortably sleeps 2 teens. Kitchen was compact but well equipped with oven and dishwasher. For those who need the room to be cleaned will need to place the card outside the door the night before. Although we did not request for housekeeping service during our short stay there, the housekeeping team dropped by anyway (on day 2) to check if we needed to replenish any items. Breakfast was included. Small selection but sufficient for us. Breakfast is served on the top floor restaurant on 5th floor with nice views of the harbour. The self service laundry room is located on the 2nd floor at the other wing near the restaurant. As there was only 1 washer and 1 dryer, you’ll need to wait if someone was ahead of you. Overall a very comfortable stay and we will stay here again if we return to Tromso!
The location of the hotel is good, the equipment is good, but the sanitary conditions are a bit poor, the sanitation is not clean, and there are other people's hair on the pillows.
This hotel is part of the hospital complex and has tourists and patients as guests. The rooms are basic with two single beds. The adjoining bathroom was almost bigger than the room and everything was clean. There was a good choice of options for breakfast. However, I would not recommend the dinner unless you really can't be bothered to take the bus into town. We ate there on our first evening and were surprised at the lack of choice. It was a buffet with a few pieces of tomato and cucumber, bread, cheese, jam and soup. The bus leaves from the front door and takes you to the centre in about 10 to 12 minutes so getting around is not difficult. (I suggest buying a week pass at the kiosk near the reception as it works out much cheaper than buying a ticket each time you take the bus)
We didn’t stay at the Ami Hotel, but booked an intimate trip for 5, to hunt for the Aurora. Pick up and drop off either outside the Ami Hotel. On arrival at the hotel we were given warm clothing and boots. Our driver and guide, Sarah, was great, originally from Wales, she was very knowledgeable and told us interesting tales of Norwegian folklore, talked about the different locations that she’d travelled to for great views of the ‘lights’. She was very friendly, and brought fold up chairs to have hot drinks, sausages to toast around a firepit and also doughnuts. Sarah drove us to a few spots and saw the wonder of the ‘Northern Lights’. She also took photos of our group which were great. I would definitely recommend this tour.
This holiday was initially booked for March 2020 but due to covid it was postponed for 2 years. The staff kept in contact with me the whole time and I added extra nights. They were so lovely. We were given accommodation outside the city so if I called them they would book us taxi's. The accommodation was beautiful, very clean, modern and fully equipped. This made our stay just so perfect. I would go back 100% and recommend to everybody . Photos are view from the terrace.
We had a fabulous time at Hotel Skansen, this hotel had everything we needed for a week long stay in Tromso. The room didn’t have a hairdryer but just a quick ask at reception and one was provided straight away. The hosts were so friendly & helpful and were able to accommodate us for an extra night at short notice. You could see the pride they take in their hotel. The breakfast was a great traditional scandic style buffet breakfast. There was coffee & tea free of charge in reception & often home made cake available too- a lovely touch. The rooms were modern, clean & warm. Room temperatures were easy to adjust & bed was very comfy! We slept peacefully after busy active days in the city & on tours. The location is perfect & is just a short walk along the main high street and easy to get to your meeting points from the hotel. The hotel is great value for money and we will happily stay here again when we visit in the summer! Thank you!

Excellent
The breakfast was great, there was absolutely nothing missing and left nothing to be desired. The location right in the city center was also perfect. The bathroom was good, especially the shower was great! The lobby and breakfast room are attractively furnished. We had booked a family room (up to 4 people) for 3 adults. The room was much, much too small for this! There was only one space for suitcases and no storage for packing and unpacking. As the suitcases were very dirty due to the winter weather, it was out of the question to put them on the bed. There were no closets, shelves or anything like that, just a coat rack. There were not enough hooks in the bathroom. There was also no safe. It would be nice if there was a shoe shine machine in the house, absolutely essential in muddy weather. Also, the carpeting in the hallways is very run down.
GGuest UserThe best way to describe this hotel is average in every way. Everything in Tromso is ”central” - it's not a big place so that isn't really a selling point. The rooms are very small (even the ”deluxe” ones) and there are only two elevators for a pretty sizable 8 story hotel so get ready for the stairs. I paid extra to be on the 8th floor because I read the reviews about the nightclub underneath and boy they were right - I could hear thumping well into the night so bring your earplugs (the club appears to only be open Thursday - Saturday so if you're travelling outside of that, I'm sure it's more tolerable to try to sleep). Hindsight being 20/20, I would've paid $30-40 more to stay at one of the better rated hotels.
EElaineyEasy to locate and walking distance from bus stop and supermarket. Got to do self check in on ipad and mine keep having error. The hotel guy at counter helped me with check in and want to charge me for the hotel room which I had already paid via Trip app. Pls be careful if you're doing manual check in with the hotel staff. Decent size for 2pax but opening 2 luggages was quite an issue because of limited floor space.
My wife and I arrived the early morning of Monday, June 10th. We had just arrived after our NCL cruise, and were hoping to drop off our luggage until check in time. Upon arrival it was freaking busy, with numerous cruise ship people both coming, and heading out. With that, we were greeted right away, and offered a meeting room to store our luggage until check in. Everyone we met at the hotel, from the front desk workers, to the numerous women working in the dining room area, were wonderful. We came back sometime after 3pm, and our room was still not ready. No big deal, as we then checked out more of Tromso, and had dinner. We were eventually checked in. Our room was clean and comfortable. It looked good and it smelled good. The beds were comfortable. Everything worked well. The shower door setup was something of a mess. You would have water all over the bathroom floor unless you limited the water flow, and made sure the shower head was more in a certain direction. After the learning curve we were able to somewhat control the size of the water on the floor. The room faced the back of the building, right against an office building. If you were not careful you could give some of the office workers quite a show. The beds were comfy. And the star of the show was the complimentary breakfast, afternoon cake and coffee, and the complimentary dinner. The breakfast was very yummy, with lots of choices, both hot and cold items. Along with coffee and juices. The afternoon coffee had some very yummy cakes. And the dinner was super good, and varied each night. All the meals seemed like there was some serious thought and effort to the spread. The dinner was a very pleasant surprise. Each day they posted the dinner menu. The hotel is right downtown, close to everything. So convenient. We had a wonderful stay. We would absolutely stay again.
GGuest UserStayed for 2 nights! The room was cosy, and cute. The bed was really hard though, but the pillows were thick and soft! It was tidy and clean, and the bathroom was great with good pressure in the shower! The rooms had a TV with chromecast! Also the lights in the room were easy to control :) The hotel is really close to airport and traffic, but it's well isolated so we didn't get bothered by the noise of the traffic. As mentioned the hotel is close to ”jekta”, just a few minutes walk. And it's not a long drive if you prefer to bathe at ”Tromsø badet” It's easy to get there by car, but if you don't like driving there is a bus stop for route 28 right beside the hotel which makes it easier to travel to the mainland and back. Reception, bar and breakfast is at the top floor, with lot of room to he social or just enjoy the sight alone. They also had board games you could use! The only REALLY minus of our stay were that the service were a bit slow. We asked for help with the TV several times without luck. But I am not to mad about it due to few personel and high workload while we were there. (And the personel were really nice and polite) The hotel may wanna make an easier note that breakfast is NOT included in the room (as they traditionally are in tromsoe). And also how much breakfast cost! On your website it only says when breakfast is served (and that it's free until March 2024, which it were not). We were informed in the morning breakfast was 199 NOK per person, luckily with shopping center close by, and food market breakfast is easy to acquire. To sum it up: will stay at the hotel next time as well!
What I liked - the location, the staff, comfortable bed, breakfast. What could be improved - add espresso/cappuccino machine and pastries , there was a sign in the room saying the room is cleaned on Tuesday, but nobody came to empty at least the garbage (there is only 1 small bin in the bathroom). The rooms are not sound proof, so noise is coming both from the street and from the corridor, so bring an ear plugs.
GGuest UserGood location. Airport express bus is just outside.
Well kept hotel with a sea view
Good spread and variety for breakfast
Pleasant and helpful staff
Old bed limp pillow
Cleanliness can be improved
SShichengjiThe location is excellent, only a three- to five-minute walk from the event center and one minute from the bus station. The front desk restaurant and room service staff were very friendly and helpful. The room is not too small for this city and the bed is a bit soft. The most commendable thing is that it includes breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea, which are served for a long time. There is basically no need to go out to eat in restaurants. Especially when you come with friends, you can eat in the restaurant at your own pace, saving a lot of time. You know During the peak tourist season, it takes a long time to wait for a seat at an outside restaurant to order a meal. The variety and taste of the food are pretty good. It is a highly recommended hotel.
EExcursion287061The location is great for visiting Tromso. We walked to the Cathedral and to the city easily. We stayed in their explore cabin for one night and one night on a pitch in turf. The receptionist told us that when we checked out at 1pm we could go to cabin because nobody was there the night before. We said how kind. When we went in at 1:30 the next day,Maya was about to give us the keys and Victoria interrupted in Norwegian and said that the cabin was being cleaned. We know nobody stayed in any of the cabins the night before because we had to walk to see if our campervan would fit in parking space. She then lied again and said the windows were being cleaned. Which was another lie. We understand that check-in was 3pm to the cabin. For some reason she didn’t want to let us check in earlier. Customer service is if you can accommodate why wouldn’t you? Her co-workers said we could and they even looked dumbfounded when she interrupted them. (We never asked to check-I’m early) On Taco Night” we saw Victoria. She was off shift at 6:35pm on Friday, she deliberately went in front of other guests and ate all the meat, ect. piling on so much food on her plate eating everything and the rest of us in line got nothing. We asked the cook if she was going to make more she said she wasn’t making more. It was an all you can eat buffet until 8pm. The male receptionist asked the quests if they wanted a refund. We got our money back and left. Overall the place is great to visit Tromso and the staff was great except for Victoria. I’m not sure if she was having a rough day,but she needs a refresher in Customer Service. We Came back the next morning and the chef with pink hair was amazing and the breakfast was great!
SSatanikFor a solo Traveller it’s a great stay, and particularly if you are travelling during the peak season.
The owners are the dearest people you’ll ever come across.
Bonus: You can book your Northern Lights chase with them.
Clean. Safe, location.
Has a great view from the mountains
Travel to city center is easy with good bus connections.
You might just want to make a note, if you being dropped late night during your chase at the city center, taxi or uber is the only option back (but easily available)
Over all stay as a solo traveller it’s a 10 on 10!
