Great view of lake toya from the room.
Room was also big with comfortable beds and pillows.
Soundproofing was awesome as there was a loud group in the lounge but we couldn't hear them at all when our room was beside the lounge.
Only downside is that this hotel is a but of distance away from the main lake toya area.
On the first day I arrived, I felt that the decoration and layout of the entire hotel room and the hotel area created an ancient Western pine forest environment. Staying here can definitely feel the tranquility of nature and make people feel relaxed physically and mentally.
The room has a terrace facing Lake Toya, offering a panoramic view of the entire lake. The bathroom has a large glass window that also faces the center of the lake, so you can enjoy the beautiful lake view while taking a bath.
Both breakfast and dinner are eaten in the hotel restaurant. The store manager cooks the treats himself. I chose Western style for dinner. The first bowl, soup, main course, and dessert are all in eight degrees. Everything is beautiful and beautiful. Can't record everything. Finally a cup of hot coffee. Perfect and endlessly memorable.
Check out after breakfast the next day. The store manager took the initiative to drive us to Toya JR Station. Very thoughtful.
All in all, this hotel brought us a freshness and surprise that we had never experienced before; an alternative experience. Give it a 100-point rating and deserve it.

The owner was very friendly. He bought us welcome gifts. He even informed us about the weather around the area. The scenery was fantastic as well, as you are greeted by lake toya the minute you step out of the house.
Overall it was a great experience and the owner was very hospitable and friendly, I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone interested in visiting lake toya or Niseko.

Outstanding
LLoner TravellerThe view on Lake Toya from the hotel was spectacular. We were lucky to have witnessed the cloud sea and sunrise. From the other angle, we could see the full view of Mt Yotei, also known as Hokkaido Fuji. There are few restaurants in the hotel, including the Japanese, Chinese, French, and the Italian. There was also good onsen in the hotel, both idoor and outdoor. We will definitely come back to stay again in the future.
ZZomoPLEASE OPT FOR THE HOTEL BUFFET DINNER! Best hotel buffet with a humongous spread and really every thing was tasty!
To get to the hotel from Sapporo, it’s best to make reservation early for the shuttle bus. If that is full, do make a reservation with Donan Bus (do note that it needs reservation even though google map shows it as an option route). Otherwise, you can just do the typical Rapid Train- Toya station and take a bus there( which stops a 3 minutes walk away) .
Hotel has a big onsen, the outdoor one gives you a great view of Lake Toya, the indoor one has many pool and sauna/mist room.
Hotel also has an old school Sento if you would like to experience the old school way.
Rooms were spacious, service was good.
Great option if you want to enjoy lake Toya at a slower pace!
LluxfowlThis hotel is the biggest in the area. Amazing Breakfast, Great Onsen, Best views of Lake Toya.
The staff were really helpful too.
I was given a room on the first night with trees blocking the lake view. I requested for a different room and they upgraded my room for the 2nd night as it was fully booked ok the first night.
I really enjoyed my stay
TTumamayThe whole room is in tatami style. I changed into slippers on the first floor and went barefoot when I entered the room, which was another good experience. The room has a kettle, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. There is no bathroom, but there is a hot spring on the underground first floor, which solves the problem of taking a bath. The rooms are all lake view rooms. It feels great to live on the fifth floor. It's still in time to see the boat coming and go down.
TTheeradaThis hotel is a bit far from the city, so if you plan to watch fireworks from your hotel room, this might not be a place for you. The hotel lobby is pretty. There's an in-room onsen and a public one. Dinner and Breakfast are served as a course, mostly not Japanese style. The staff can speak English very well, and they are kind to help with the issue I had.
EEuricyThis is an extremely nice and highly recommended hostel if you stay in Akan;
The room, the meal and the onsen are so worth for you to spend the amount.
SsomchartAt the time we stay in Toya Kohen tai hotel. We got rooms face to the Toya Lake, very nice senery and can see the beautiful lake and mountains. Hotel provide free parking space for the guests. Public Onsen at 9floor very convenience and open all day except 1-2am. Stop for cleaning,it's very nice and clean. Hotel's buffet is good foods and great view
We stayed in the japanese style rooms, hotel are only prepared for the mattreess sets, we have to set up our own staying beds
. We like this hotel.
GGuest UserThe location is the best which just one minute walking distance to the bus terminal to/from Toya Station and in front of the ferry pier. Please see my photo. Perfect location. The front desk receptionist lady was friendly. I was placed to a lake view Japanese style room. It doesn't include shower but toilet in the room and it looks like old but I love the room. The view from the room's window to Lake Toya was excellent. I love my room's window can be opened, I could see more clear to the lake view and to have fresh air from outside by opening the window. Even it was a raining day, cloudy and frosty. The view is still spotless good. The service was good. The room was clean, tidy and come with all necessity, but bath/shower excluded. However, based on the price, I was happy with it because I don't mind to use the bathroom in the onsen area on floor one. There was only two down side that I found: First, the male onsen area floor was sticky and slippery with moss (My left hand accidentally touched it and my hand was sticked with moss in outdoor onsen area) that includes indoor and outdoor area. I wish they would take more effort to the cleanliness of onsen area. Second, the suana was not available for customer to use. However, I had a fantastic sauna and onsen in 万世閣 (a hotel where is just a few minutes walk away from Toya Grand Hotel) by a paying walk in onsen fee(1300 yen) for non-resident. So, it didn't affect me much.
Overall, my experience was good. I would give Toya Grand Hotel 8 out of 10. I love Toya Grand Hotel. I would recommend it.
GGuest UserWe absolutely loved staying here. We had a large Japanese style room with a view of the lake. You could watch the fireworks and see the sunsets. The hotel is set slightly apart from the other main hotels which is a positive. The baths were never busy and there was a small outdoor bath. We really enjoyed our stay here
