Oude villa met meerdere kamers in de achterbouw op de eerste verdieping. Géén lift. Kleine kamer met weinige faciliteiten. Wel airco maar gelet op de frisse avondtemperatuur konden we géén verwarming instellen - uitleg ontbrak. Parking voldoende voor de deur. Ontgoochelend gelet ook op de prijs voor 1 nacht. Ontbijt : typisch frans = middelmatig. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar!

Nice hotel in a hiqtoric building. A little bit shabby here and there, but our room was clean, warm, comfy and with lots of old-world character. Coffee/tea set in the room much appreciated. Good bathromm. Bed a bit too firm - for me. Lovely enclosed garden (in summer). Just next to the center of medieval Chinon, with a large car park at the front door. Really excellent buffet breakfast with meat, salmon, cheese, eggs, good coffee and pastries (industrial croissants and pains chocolat not properly cooked, but it didn't spoil my day.) Good value for money.

Uncomfortable beds dipped in the middle. Lots of fluff under the bed. My dog was covered. Only one dining chair to sit on. Cold floors it needed rugs for the freezing winter. No restaurant or bar no atmosphere just basic. Breakfast was not worth the money. No hot food. Not even white bread.

This is a wonderful hotel. It is well situated in Chinon with free parking directly opposite in the square. The interior is very stylish and our room was modern and well equipped. The breakfast room is very inviting and there was a very good choice of food including fresh croissants, toast, jams, cheese, ham, yoghurts, nuts, fruit, eggs etc and it is all beautifully presented in a nice airy conservatory. The staff at the hotel are most obliging and speak good english. Overall an excellent choice if you want a central hotel at a competive price. To be highly recommended.

This hotel is superb. It is well located and there is free parking just in front in the square. The welcome was first class and the room very spacious and well equipped. The breakfast served as a buffet in the conservatory had a wonderful choice of food and drinks including smoked salmon and home made fruit salad and cakes as well as pastries and a good selection of hot and cold drinks. We ate dinner in the Bistro du Marche next door which had an excellent menu. All in all a great hotel which we would highly recommend as you are very well treated and the facilities are all excellent.

We indeed booked a cheaper room so there may be much better rooms in this hotel, but ... Plus points: lots of parking in the square outside, good updated bathroom with a proper walk in shower. Strong air-conditioning. Pleasant staff. Minus: really small room opening off a narrow outdoor balcony walkway; seriously tough to manage with a suitcase. Cheap furnishings and the window opened right on to the walkway. Only one bedside light. Ancient lock and key. We were hoping for a bit more.

I was quite negatively surprised when I checked in to this hotel. I don’t think the pictures corresponded to the reality and I was surprised that the reviews were so positive when my own experience was quite the opposite.
In my eyes, my room and the common areas of the hotel, except for the updated reception area, were worn and shabby. I could clearly hear other quests in neighbouring rooms speak and as they passed in the corridor. The wooden floors in the corridor and stairs creaked and squeeked which was very disturbing. Luckily I found earplugs that helped so I could sleep.
However, the staff was very nice and service-minded and the breakfast was good. And the rien was lovely!!

Well situated for Chinon and the Loire. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Secure car parking. a little off the beaten track but easy to find. Great breakfast and good service at reception for an early start.
