Vandayar Hotel

The hotel is 9 years old, the maintenance is quite poor . On top of that there was renovation going on at level 1. Hence the rooms we were staying was dusty and smelly

Whenever we go to Chidambaram, we have stayed in this hotel. We have seen it age, it has not aged well. But what remains unchanged it is food, the biryani is out of the world. About the hotel, rooms can be old, may have some broken fixtures here and there, hygiene is not great, plastic cups for coffee which look more brown than white are some such things but we ignore for its close to temple, and biryani.

I had a meetup with my college friends recently and we stayed here for few days. From warm hospitality to well-maintained rooms, this hotel offers a delightful stay. The staff’s friendliness and attention to cleanliness stood out. Modern amenities, including free internet access, add to the comfort. Conveniently located near the bus stand, Vandayar Hotel is a top choice for travelers.

Location is close to the temple, in a crowded road with lots of traffic. Parking is available. Adjoining restaurants serve decent food from limited menu. However the hotel is very poorly maintained. Bathroom floors were dirty and smelly. No fan which meant that the ac had to run full blast to make summer night bearable. Cramped room, very little storage space, no kettle or fridge. Front desk service was not friendly or responsive. Luckily the sheets, towels and toilet bowl were clean so managed. Will look for a different place next time. This was too expensive for the facilities

The location of the hotel is very convenient as it is close to the railway station, opposite to the bus stand, walking distance to the temple and the hotel assists with cabs for pichavaram mangrove forest tour. But the room linens, bathrooms and storage could use a revamp as they are very poorly kept. For a nights stay it was fine but maintaining the overall cleanliness of the property could make it a to-go place for all visitors.

Restaurant service is good. Property and room maintenance is very bad. I have changed room twice because of poor tailing and bathroom fittings are leaking.

Room was very small. The bed was creaking. The vegetarian food fare was so so. The toilets need to be maintained better.

1. Wash rooms are not maintained well. Flush water is dripping and making the area wet and dirty. 2. Rooms were not cleaned. And water bottle was charged. At-least one bottle is complimentary. 3. Room service bills are settled immediately and not with the final bill.

Location and food good. Located closer to temple and bus stand. Reception is good they serve both vegetarian and non vegetarian food. Staffs are polite. Toilets and rest room are just ok. Can improve on it
