The hotel is in a great location! Close to main attractions and lots of restaurants! Main staff was not very friendly. Hotel is beautiful when you enter. Rooms are very old and need updating. The toilet in my bathroom had a corroded tank and a broken lever. That was a bit frustrating. Bed was very hard!! Room was very cold! Only one thermostat for the entire hotel. There is no individual thermostat in each room. Had to ask for extra blankets. They did provide that for me. The fitness room is very nice! Every thing you need to have a really good workout! They indicated they are in the process of renovating rooms. They’ve just not completed that project yet. I would stay there again if the price was right. Hopefully next time I’ll get an updated room!

I booked a room at this hotel because of the positive reviews and I was not disappointed. The rate I got was pretty good. If you book online via the hotel's website, you can save some money. I actually called and talked to someone at the hotel because on one day, we had 2 people staying and on another day, we had 3 people staying (because my husband was flying in to join us later) and the rates were different depending on the number of people staying. This is standard procedure in some European countries, so I wasn't completely shocked. The room we had was small, but clean. Because of COVID, we were told there wouldn't be any housekeeping and if we needed anything (like towels), we could come to the front desk. We didn't have a great view, like one of the other reviews we had read, but I did like the location. The hotel is located on the edge of Chinatown, so there are many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. There is also a metro station that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, in the Chinatown parking lot. In fact, we parked our car there for 2 nights. I was a little worried about somebody breaking into it, as it is a surface lot, but no such thing happened. In fact, there are lots of cars parked in the lot at any one time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I LOVE the location!

The location is excellent . It is about a two minute walk from the north end of Michigan Avenue very close to the Hancock building/Water Tower. Staff were super friendly and helpful from the moment we came through the door. They assisted with parking as well as giving an extensive list of where to eat in the neighborhood. They also provided personal recommendations when we asked. Thanks Mark, Felicia and Alicia for your great service and charming personalities; you made the stay feel even more special. It is an older hotel that is not likely to appeal to those who want one with all the bells and whistles and an expansive fancy lobby associated with a modern, high-end hotel. Those aspects may be nice but they also come at a substantial price and do not guarantee great service. This hotel is an excellent value for the money. Our rooms were clean, spacious and the beds were comfortable. The views from the room were lovely so that was an extra bonus. There are refrigerators in the room and plug-in slots for electronic devices along the edge of the desk. Other reviewer‘s have not noticed these items and have complained that they did not exist. There was nothing that we needed that was not there. While we did not request any, I heard from another guest in the elevator that staff was very responsive on bringing them ice when they needed it. Hotel staff also take Covid safety seriously. This was a great stay in a beautiful city. I would not hesitate to return to the Whitehall.

i was worried since i ve heard of a lot of rumors going around us hotels such as bed bugs, dust and dirty blakets. however those were all cleared once i got into the room. room was small but cozy and they always clean my room as if there was no body in the room. more over, location was also good. close to the station, bikes and chicago river. it was pleasure to stay there.

This hotel is not far from Chicago's Union Station and is within walking distance. There are many fast food restaurants in the surrounding area. It is convenient transportation. Although the room is not big, it is not far from the city center.

Our family if 4 had a two queen room on the 27th floor, with a partial view toward Lake Michigan (picture out the window attached). Picture upon arrival of the lobby, in the room and bathroom also attached. Picture in the restaurant & bar is also inserted. Breakfast is not included at this Hilton Garden, but the downstairs restaurant was good. This Hotel is a very easy walk across Michigan Avenue and RR tracks to the lakefront, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, & Soldier field. From the airport we took the Blue line to the Lasalle station and walked about 20 minutes to the hotel.

First of all, we must explain that the security of Chicago is a big problem. Although this hotel and location are quite good, it is recommended to pay attention to safety when traveling. Try not to go out late at night without going out. I heard gunshots in the hotel one day, and it turned out to be a real gunfight between the police and the robber. The gangster injured the policeman. It happened more than a block away at 3:30 in the morning. This is not a problem of location or hotel, this is the case in Chicago. The front desk guy in the store has a very good service attitude, recommended to us and helped order the authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. very delicious. After the accident that day, we were notified in time not to go out late at night. Overall the experience is good. I lived in a bunk bunk room type. It was very comfortable to live in a bunk bunk in a hotel for the first time. Small but complete. The traffic is pretty good. Adults (over 21) can go to the bar diagonally across the street is the famous beauty service bar. We were still students and didn't go in. But the shooters bar itself is indeed very famous.

We traveled in June 2022. Our first visit to Chicago and even though the fire house is across the street and operational 24/7 we were able to rest (our room was on the 17th floor which had something to do with that??). Also, our room was clean and appointed with all we needed, and we felt safe as we traveled to see the sights. The staff were helpful and took the time to see that we got all the info we needed especially for traveling downtown via the train and bus. I cannot say enough about the helpful staff but a special shout out to Javier and Fannie the breakfast team. They were a welcomed voice as we walked in for breakfast as well as throughout the meal. They helped us with directions and with the how to get there, oh and they ensured the breakfast items were well stocked at all times. This best morning staff is the best we have encountered in the Marriott system, and we are just completing our bucket list of visiting all 50 states. Javier and Fannie are great team members for the Marriott.

I think it's very good and simple, and you can check in if you are dissatisfied with 21. The location is good. I am very satisfied. The price is fair and the experience is great. good

Perfect hotel to discover Chicago. Located in the river north area with restaurants, supermarkets and shops nearby. Well connected to the airport and a 15-minute walk from the riverwalk.
