We walked by the John L. Stam house this morning and it looked closed/under renovation. The sign out front is gone and the website is down. Chestertown has charm, but very few places to stay within the town.

My husband and I stayed at the John L Stam House for a wedding weekend and had such a lovely stay. The home and gardens are unique, beautiful, and impeccably cared for. Marta was so accommodating, kind, and interesting and we wish we could have stayed even longer!
