The Townhouse Chester

Just returned from an overnight stay in The Townhouse, Chester. What a fabulous little hotel! Perfect location for the city centre and beautifully decorated throughout. The staff were wonderful, so friendly and accommodating. I would 100% stay there again and will recommend it to anyone visiting Chester.

Very welcoming, very friendly, very helpful. We were helped with our luggage to our room which was very clean. The whole townhouse has been upgraded. NOTHING was too much trouble and our dog, as are all dogs, was very welcome and catered for, the staff went out of their way to help and look after us, we will definitely book again.

Terrible experience and getting worse since departure. On arrival at reception our booking with pets was not correct with the staff member making us uncomfortable. After bumbling around reception 2 forms were placed without explanation to what they were to sign.feeling uncomfortable and stressed after waiting for 15 minutes a signed without reading. On going for a walk we were stopped again demanding an extra payment for the dogs after already paying on arrival which meant more time waiting at reception. The best part is 31 hours after departure I received an email requesting a payment of £150 without evidence of the claim made by the hotel because of the mess our dogs let the room. I’m sure this is a common tactic as being experienced travelers with pets we know the expectations on how to leave a room after stay with pets.The key card continued to fail meaning going back from the top floor to reception which was great fun. The breakfast we paid for was terrible. Cold scrambled eggs with cold coffee. Not a great start to the day. I feel insulted by this hotel and claims and costs they are trying to claim from me after such a lengthy time after check out. I have a feeling they won’t supply the evidence I requested to prove the accusations and rights to try charge me £150 to clean a room or say they missed out on bookings when the hotel wasn’t even full when we stayed.

Beautiful newly refurbished building, finished to a very high standard. All the staff were warm and welcoming. The food was very fresh and cooked to a high standard by the very friendly chef. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The tea tray was very good and it was nice to have bottles of water. Lovely garden with a covered area, unfortunately too cold for us to enjoy it.

Extremely well priced. Staff were excellent and very welcoming. Rooms we immaculate. Breakfast was beautiful. We will definitely be back thankyou. 10/10. Your team makes this place and should receive credit for this. I very rarely write a review 🫡👍

This hotel is simply fantastic! I stayed here 10 years ago as a kid with my dad and have come back for a weekend away with my girlfriend now older. The reception staff are very attentive, friendly and professional and the rooms are clean, pleasant and modern. The breakfast couldn't be better, I love the buffet, where you can eat continental breakfasts until your cooked meal arrives. The owners are lovely people and I am so happy to hear of their success. The room is cleaned everyday. The location is only 20 or so minutes away from the railway station and smack bang in the centre of the city woth plenty of pubs, attractions and food outlets nearby to enjoy. We will be coming back here again soon. If you are thinking of staying here you simply must book! Well worth the 5 stars. William Toms. From Maldon,Essex.

A fantastic stay in every way!. Our room was decorated to a very high standard, the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom and shower were very spacious, modern and clean. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention for Dylan the chef who was responsible for the breakfast, it was very hot, fresh and tasty. Becca made the Latte’s which were perfect! I really liked the family feel to the business! Well done team Townhouse!

Fantastic stay! Phenomenal service with a cosy, family feel! Had one of the nicest cocktails I’ve ever had! Delicious sparkling wine, comfiest bed ever, power shower and an amazing breakfast. Can’t wait to return! Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Chester!

Lovely afternoon, staff lovely and very friendly! Excellent service. Welcoming environment. Lovely area “ The secret garden” Would highly recommend for afternoon Tea. Would definitely return again!!!!
