層高很矮,我先生1.89米高,碰頭了衹能低頭,很壓抑的感覺,沒有睡好。給我們的是6號房間,含早餐1300多元,浴室沒有站着沐浴,衹能拿噴頭在浴缸裏洗澡,很不習慣。不知道別的房間是不是也是這樣的?

房間挺好的,浴室很大,設施很齊全,就是在路邊有點吵,晚上附近沒什麼東西,衹是過夜就沒什麼大問題的。早餐豐富,但是我們付的房間衹帶一份早餐,另一位要15磅就有點貴。服務就還行,離牛津中心有點路。晚上蠻多人來這裏吃飯的。

Surprised to read quite a few bad reviews from other restaurant goers. We stayed here for 3 nights and had wonderful food throughout. Restaurant never too crowded, dinner (especially the risotto and filet of beef) and breakfast always tasty. Staff always courteous and helpful. The slanted roof in the room was slightly annoying but we rearranged the furniture a bit so we wouldn't need to bump into it. Good parking lot, quiet neighborhood almost like countryside. We enjoyed our stay.

I got a txt message cancellation from this pub. I had booked an evening meal for my wife’s birthday (just the two of us). They cancelled my booking with 5 hours notice stating they had a large party to accommodate. Unreliable and very very poor customer service. Nice pictures on a website don’t translate to actually caring about customers.

We stayed for two evenings in May to visit Blenheim palace. We had two rooms, both superior, one on the first floor of the pub and one leading out to the front. Both rooms were beautiful; the one outside had very low ceilings and beams (ok for us as we’re not tall), with a big clawfoot bath and a walk in wardrobe. It also had the most stunning fireplace that backs on to the one in the pub. The other room had a huge 6ft bed and a very big walk in shower. Both were incredibly comfortable and we slept well both nights. We ate at the pub both evenings; the first night a young chap was managing the restaurant, he and the team did a phenomenal job. The service and the food was superb. He second evening we shared the steak (we had two between the four of us) and it was amazing. Again the food and service was fabulous. On the Saturday we were the only ones eating breakfast, the service was prompt and the food delicious. However the breakfast on the Sunday was an absolute disaster; the chap who seated us (I didn’t catch his name but he had an overseas accent) took our order and then we waited…. We waited and waited as he seated others, took their orders and their breakfasts came while we waited. The room wasn’t full, there were about 5 other tables seated (and he walked past us several times and looked at the table). When we asked him, he blamed the kitchen then went to find out what had happened. He came back and apologised and said it would be with us shortly (to be clear, two of us were only having toast!) only for us to have to chase again. An hour had gone by and we still had no breakfast (every other table had come and gone by then. After chasing a second time, he brought out one cooked breakfast (with the wrong eggs) and an omelette (the other order was for poached eggs on toast), oh and then the toast! We explained this was wrong so he blamed the kitchen again and then said he’d get them to make poached eggs but we said we’d rather not have rushed poached eggs (and to be honest it had been over an hour, we had to get off). There was an almighty row going on between him and the kitchen (I imagine the order simply hadn’t made it and then he’d guessed). We were gutted, it had been such a lovely stay with two fabulous meals and great service and it ended like that. We were told that a guest had a flat battery and they were trying to help out with that, but to me there’s no excitement for that level of service in a breakfast room where only 5 tables have taken breakfast. When I checked out he apologised it did not make eye contact. I really wanted to be writing a positive review and like I said the majority of the stay was super, to the point we’d discussed returning g. However that wouldn’t happen now, which is a shame.

Dreadful experience last weekend. Booked a table 4 days before going over the phone but on arrival they said they had no record of us doing this? Managed to get a table ordered a pint of lager and a half also.. they came to the table with 2 pints! Also ordered 2 pink gins with tonic water.. they came to the table with gin and soda! All steaks ordered came to the table different to what we had ordered.. ie medium well came absolutely raw? The 2 young girls who were on duty clearly hadn’t had any training in communication or restaurant skills.. didn’t get an Hello when we arrived or a Thank you and Goodbye when we left! This was our favourite restaurant for years and always had first class service with lovely food also.. clearly there has been a change of management as it came as such a shock? Won’t be going again

So disappointed! We have been here as regulars for many years, we ordered a takeaway duck pizza for our daughter who had dropped us off and it was awful! And my meal was very disappointing, food has gone downhill and although they only had one chef on, I had booked this table weeks in advance and thankfully I had called the day before as I couldn’t remember the time I had booked, they didn’t have my booking even though I had called and spoken to someone to request a special table we always had! This has always been a favourite place of ours and feel the service has gone seriously downhill

Two weeks after checking out of the Bell, £150 was randomly charged to my credit card and appeared on my statement. When I called reception, they could not have been more disinterested, no apology, no explanation and I was instructed to e-mail the general manager. My e-mail was not acknowledged and I called again - the same person came to the phone (who I now know is the bar manager), he did not say hello, simply said ‘give me the long number, I'll do the refund’. Transaction complete, I asked if I could give feedback, and he said ‘yes, that would be OK’. I let him know that I felt an apology should have been volunteered along with an explanation, it seems that their systems are not secure. He told me that ‘he did not have to take my abuse’ and slammed the phone down on me. His treatment of me was truly shocking. I wrote again for the attention of the general manager – no response after a week. I called again – was told the staff didn't know when he would be in, ‘I’d got my refund hadn’t I’? They refused to give me the general manager’s name. I've had to pay the money on my credit card and it won't be until next month that I see the refund on my statement. I’ve stayed at The Bell four or five times previously. I will never be going back. Appalled that this can be allowed to happen to what was previously a delightful establishment.
