I read a lot of negative reviews before attending on a group trip, and wanted to give the resort the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately the reviews were right. From check in to check out, interactions with the staff were a mess - promising to text and email updates or receipts and never doing it, no rooms ready for hours at a time, and the restaurant service was just abysmal. This isn’t just “island time” - orders were forgotten, wrong, took hours to get simple dishes when things weren’t very busy, and the prices are insane for what you’re getting. Some of the staff was really sweet, but each trip to eat was anxiety inducing knowing what was about to happen. There were also little ants all over our room from the minute we arrived - one got into my jewelry box - and the shower looked to have mold in the corner. When we were leaving, the whole hotel AC broke, which was the cherry on top - we were ready to go home! St Thomas is beautiful and the Buoy House beach is nice, but doesn’t really balance out the negative experience overall. The group of about 40 people I was with all had at least one similar story of horrible interactions with staff. I wouldn’t recommend visiting until the hotel gets more hospitality training, and you can definitely get more for your money elsewhere.
