Travelodge Carlisle Central

The hotel is in a great location, right in the city center, and very easy to find. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us clear instructions for both check-in and parking. However, the room itself was a bit disappointing. As soon as we walked through the hallways, it was obvious that the hotel is quite old, probably around 40–50 years old. Thankfully, the room was reasonably clean, but the facilities were extremely outdated. There was no air conditioning, only a fan, so the room felt very hot and stuffy. A hairdryer was also not provided in the room and had to be requested separately from reception. That said, the front desk staff were always patient and willing to help whenever we needed anything. Overall, the service was good, but considering the outdated facilities and lack of air conditioning, I don’t think the room was worth the price we paid.

This hotel is probably one of the best Travelodges to stay in Carlisle it's very well managed very tidy and clean.Good location to city centre train station etc all round great staff as well

Hi staying at Carlisle Travelodge and would like to praise a member of staff called Paige , Paige made us feel very welcome and was friendly and answered our questions, Paige is a credit to Travelodge and we will definitely be back x

I was really disappointed with the whole experience. this was my first time ever of staying at a travellodge. Good points;- 1.central location 2. quiet within Hotel 3.Comfy bed Poor points. 1. Price- this was not a "cheap" hotel and the price was way over the top for what was on offer 2. The room i was in was stiflingly hot and the fan was some, but generally, of little use at all. i got virtually no sleep due to heat. There is no air con! 3. The stairwell to the rooms- (i do not like using lifts unless i have to,) was dirty, with little bits of paper etc strewn around, cobwebs, dirty windows, an occasional vacuuming would assist. 4. The ensuite bathroom was tiny 5. The shower curtain did not stop lots of water coming on to bathroom floor and i was on my own and only for one night. 6. I do appreciate it is not the fault of hotel, but it affected greatly my stay, and therefore needs to be known by prospective residents. The Seagulls started their chorus at first light ( 0400 ish) and it was impossible to sleep thereafter- window was open due to excessive heat. Although i had intended to stay in Carlisle for at least the morning, "i cut my losses" and left just after 0600 ish and caught train home

Staff couldn't have been more helpful,particularly Josh who met us with a lovely infectious smile,Carol at breakfast super helpful and friendly and Kylie at dinner who was very accommodating despite us being 'fussy' ,nothing was too much for her. Made the whole experience effortless. Thank you

I've been hear at home from home at travelodge central at Carlisle and honestly it really is like being at home or your friends. The staff hear Kylie Jenny both joshes Michelle n everyone else I've not got the names of including the cleaning crew all make you feel like royalty not a guest I've been hear since March 2026 n and it's Saturday 18th July 2026 mainly because of how they make you feel like family...the rooms are modern very clean and lots of room it's all brilliant...unlimited tea coffee fantastic breakfast spoilt for choice from full English to continenta endless supply of orange &apple juice water the list goes on...as started saying the staff can't do enough for ya 24/7 reception too as well as bar n pizza for late night snacks...i really could go on and on and on oh and on...even the location is absolutely brilliant 👏 it's bang in centre for everything 5 -10 mins walk the lot....listen you'll not "NOT be disappointed with your stay hear home from home getting treated like royalty 🇬🇧👍 11/10 spot on 👍👌

I have spent quite alot of time here on business. And the hotel is Central to everything in the town. It is very clean and The staff are what makes this hotel Fantastic from the manager to the assistant manager to all the staff . Especially the night time staff, Kylie, Josh and the blonde hair Josh. Nothing is too much trouble, for them. A+++ THEY ARE A

Upon a very late arrival to this hotel, I was greeted by Josh on reception. Josh came across very polite,was genuinely making conversation with me asking me how my journey was and wether I had stayed there before. Josh was a credit to himself and Travelodge and put me at ease after a long journey. The room itself was a standard Travelodge room and had everything I expected and needed. One downside was the lack of a plug socket or USBs by the bedside. No air conditioning but a desk fan was available should I needed it. Excellent location, minutes from the citadel railway station and all amenities of Carlisle close by. Didn’t have a breakfast so can’t comment on that. If you’re looking for a city centre base this is ideal, clean and great stay.
