This is not a timeshare. This is a resort with an owner's club. Make sure you get that straight, okay? They WILL funnel you into a high pressure sales situation by offering a generous incentive. So yeah, it's one of those. But the vouchers you get are actually worth the lost day of dealing with the hours long tour and pitch. Not to mention the emotional recovery time from being forced to say "NO" every which way you can think of without being rude. Also, make sure they offer you at least $400 for your time, especially if you're in an oft low balled demographic.
Don't go with visions of unlimited al-pastor tacos and margaritas either. The mixed drinks they serve as part of the all inclusive experience are pre-meditated crimes against tequila. The only decent all-included tacos I could find were in the cafeteria, which is a legitimate STRUGGLE to use if you go during any meal time. The actual restaurants also leave a LOT to be desired. I swear to god one of them was trying to pass breakfast buffet leftovers off as an amuse-bouche for dinner (sustainable!) The sushi place was actually a lot better than I was expecting based on the other restaurants though.
You can't swim at the beach, nor can you walk the length of the beach. The current is way too dangerous and they stop you from even getting close. Staff was v. friendly and professional. Fun vibe overall though! <3
