Mariner Bay Apartments

We love staying at mariner apar**ents have stayed twice before every time clean beds are comfortable great pool easy walk into town. Great for families. Close to the beach. Staff are fantastic nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely stay again!

Recently stayed in apar**ent 6. Great location, walking distance to town and beach. Well kept pool and BBQ area. Apar**ent 6 is very drab with dated furniture and lacking in beach vibe. While double bed was comfortable the twin beds in 2nd bedroom were not and the blinds in that room were difficult to pull up and down and needed a good clean, also the bedside lamp appeared to have been purchased from the $2.00 shop, plus the mirror placement would have been fine if you had a very long extended neck. Door missing from the laundry sink area, and the back gate did not shut, so not safe if staying with small children.

We stayed in a 3 bed apar**ent. The apar**ent was well equipped and a decent size. Located close to town. You can walk to Belongil and Main Beaches. Half of these apar**ents are on very busy/noisy Shirley st. You literally felt like you were sleeping on the rd. Noise was relentless. Also no supervision of noise from neighbouring apar**ents. Parties in pool and bbq area till 3.45am and midnight. Too noisy unfortunately.

Good location near the beach and a short walk to town. Comfortable accommodation for a family of 6 in one of the 3 bedroom apar**ents. Ours faced the laneway at the back, away from the main road but had noise from trucks - it seemed like they were collecting garbage every day during our week long stay around Xmas time. The bedroom on the top floor, like a loft, doesn’t have doors so you can hear everything in the apar**ent. Aircon in living area but not bedrooms so it can be a bit warm, although there are ceiling fans. Kitchen stocked with basic, older style utensils and things to make basic meals. We didn’t use the pool but could hear children enjoying themselves in the pool. On our arrival, floors were quite sticky but it was ok once we mopped it. Overall a nice stay.

I am an 18-year-old girl and myself and a group of my friends recently stayed at Mariner Bay Apar**ents for our schoolies week. We do not have complaints about the place itself rather complete disgust in the behaviour of the hotel manager. On the second night of our stay, he stumbled onto our private balcony with a beer in his hand, almost falling on my friend and staring at our legs whilst making extremely inappropriate comments about our bodies. He told us that if we do not give him $150 cash "right now" we "won't have a place to stay". We attempted to discuss the bond with him the day before but he was nowhere to be found. I expressed to him how uncomfortable I felt by his intoxication and his unprofessional behaviour to which he responded aggressively with "you need to learn respect" "treat me as a father". Regardless of it being late at night, we ran to an A** crying in fear of him and our potential lack of accommodation. When we arrived back to give our cash bonds and he refused to give us a receipt until I got my mother to speak to him on the phone where he eventually agreed to do so the next day and hung up on her mid-conversation. As he put our id wristbands on our wrists he touched our hands inappropriately saying"I've never seen such petite wrists" "you are such pretty young girls". We felt incredibly violated and scared. We were also confused as to why he needed to put the wristbands on us himself to begin with. We spoke to the female security guard, expressing our fear of him, but with her being employed by him, she could not say anything, instead, she gave us wooden planks to lock our apar**ent doors from the inside. The way the security guard was scared for our safety speaks volumes. There were also complaints from the room across from us of him walking into their apar**ent whilst a girl was getting changed. His use of his position of power against young girls to be inappropriate, scaring us into giving him a 'cash' bond is not ok, unprofessional and he should be fired. My group of friends are strong young women and we were absolutely terrified by his harassment, we are scared for any future young girls who are considering staying here. We have contacted the police.
