Busan LaMer Gwangan Stay

The location was very nice and located towards the beginning of the beach, and also not far from the metro and bus connections. The apartment itself could have been very nice, and in itself is very cute with a nice half-view of the ocean and pretty traditional windows and sliding doors. However, this was the dirtiest place we have ever stayed in and it was truly unbelievable how low the standard for cleanliness was. The first problem with this place is that it doesn’t know whether it wants to be a hotel or an Airbnb. From the photos, we assumed it was a small hotel as there was a reception desk in the photos. When we got there, there was a note saying the desk was unmanned and we had to go across the street to another „hotel“ if we had any problems. We checked in via a digital kiosk. When we got up to our room, we could immediately see the place had not been properly cleaned and scrubbed in a long, long time, especially in the bathroom. The faucet and cup holder were absolutely caked in limescale, there was an already used soap bar and someone else’s toothpaste left on the sink. The shower floor had sand in it. The bedroom had no storage, and the two drawers under the TV stand were filled with disgusting old hairbrushes, hair tools, and some other really gross and sticky appliances and used towels. The other two drawers were unusable as there is a big vanity sitting in front of the stand and therefore blocking those two drawers. The drawers under the bed and two cabinets in the living room were all filled with extra bedding, so also unusable. Two weird wooden hanging rods were also unusable to hang things on as they were insanely dusty. I went across the street to complain and since nobody spoke English (which, okay, understandable) I fear that Papago didn’t do the best job of translating our disgust with the lack of cleanliness. They said they’d clean it again but when we came back, all they did was scrub the shower floor a bit. It felt like this apartment was some friend‘s who left their own personal things in it and it was just shockingly gross. The weird thing is that, although it did feel like an Airbnb instead of a hotel due to the utter lack of cleanliness, some ladies came to clean two times out of the four days we stayed. It never got cleaner. Only towels replaced and bed made. The fact that the staff referred to our room as the „penthouse“ was just nuts because in no way was it reflected in the cleanliness of the place. The windows to the balcony were also insanely dirty and gross and so it made the nice view not so nice unless you went outside. Also, there is no balcony furniture at all. So we just stood outside over the railing but could never actually relax out there. It was really a huge bummer because the apartment itself is really cute, the location is great, and the view is nice. But I wouldn’t under any circumstances recommend this place unfortunately due to utter lack of cleanliness. In no way was it worth the price.

The room was very dirty, we talked to the staff and they send the cleaning. The cleaning said cut me some slack. Also it was very noisy. For the price that we paid we expected a lot better. Feels like a rip off.
